With his report given Crow moved to crouch beside Ela and though not saying anything gave her a quick smile of thanks knowing without a doubt she had covered him with her bow. Then listening to the plan to put the 4 Bugbears to sleep Crow had his own thoughts on what he would do if the mages spell worked as hoped.

No matter what, when the party moved inside the estate, the bugbears asleep or not would be dead.

Never leave any enemy alive behind you

The Syl thief thought to himself..........

I'm moving to a spot that allows me to gain a better look inside the area occupied by the 4 some humanoids.
Now what that means, to put in terms you can understand Old Man, is that without moving any curtains, or the lifting of same, I will try to peer in the open area of said curtain but from an area within range of my vision. I will be at least 20 yards from the opening in the best area of shadow I can find and still get a clear view into the tent like area. If that is impossible due to whatever you come up with I will just get enough of a look, while again keeping to the SHADOWS, to see what race the big baddies are. Once I have that info I will return, again very quietly, to the rest of the party to share my scout info.

Stone people and various poses trapped in time, Crow could not help but shake his head quietly in disbelief. What creature or manner of wizard had struck here, to the Syl rogue it was clear that whoever or whatever had done so had come prepared.

As he, Ela and Brandr moved closer, followed by Noctus, Derry and Peter a few yards behind, they came upon the rear terrace, a raised platform of marble cloaked for the moment by a white muslin linen, yet lanterns within cast shadows of four humanoid creatures. Their size at least 7’ foot tall and appearing very well armored. They appeared to be feasting on something on a squat table and Crow could only hope it was not one of the estates guests. A large sack in the corner moved and muffled sounds came from it. Perhaps this was the creatures desert, Crow could only hope his fears were wrong.

Catching the attention of all he signed for them to hold in place and to cover his closer approach to the terrace to get a better view. With everyone set and missile carrying party members hopefully covering him he made his way closer, hoping to gain a better look at what type of creatures they were to face...............

Wait this is AD&D Not the music world ok then I go with Bugbears as they stand 7+ tall and Hobgoblins only stand at 6 1/2 feet tall. Though Gnolls do also stand at 7+ tall and they do wear better armor then Bugbears hmmmm .

Ok scouting post coming up from yours truly the acrobatic thief

Two daggers thrown, arrows in flight and a few melee strikes and just that fast the battle, if you could really call it that, was over.

With the disappearance of the Kobolds as that of wax constructs clear to Crow, as to hopefully everyone else, that once again magic was at work. Retrieving his daggers using a handkerchief he quickly yet safely, as not to get any of the so-called wax on him, cleaned then sheathed the blades within his vest. Looking at the main doors allowing entrance to the estate he cautiously moved closer to get a more detailed look at the portcullis. No easy task to enter here for sure and with the metal plates covering all visible windows his skills of entry, it would seem for the moment, not to be much help.

“It seems my skills will not help us gain entry here, does anyone have any suggestions??”

It would be up to someone else in the party to decide how they would enter this estate and if no entrance were to be found Crow’s vote would be to leave the nobles trapped here to their own fate. However for the moment remaining quiet he waited on the feedback from the rest..........

Subject: Question Kobolds VS Goblin which smell worse LOL

As Crow moved past Brandr to be first at the rear door, his intention to check it for traps quickly became mute. With the appearance of the dozen or so Kobolds, the Syl rogue knew that going forward for him was no longer an option.

Two of his six throwing daggers quickly to hand he waited just long enough to gain a good close range chance to hit and then released them at two of the oncoming Kobolds. With the daggers out of his hand he quickly used his acrobatic maneuverability to place himself behind Brandr and the rest of the more melee orientated members of the group.

His plan was to dart in quickly to any engaged Kobold and hopefully gain backstab type attacks, while keeping himself unharmed. Not having the benefit of armor, Crow had no wish to go toe to toe with even Kobolds.

Kobolds why did it have to be kobolds, Oh well at least its not Goblins

I just had him think that as it's not his nature to lead. Case in point my last post and allowing Brandr to enter first. But it was more in fun then anything else.

But I think your last post is a little late as both Brander and I moved towards the back of the estate as soon as he finished talkng and I FOLLOWED him. In your post you said you talked to him as I moved to the door which is impossible in the time frame where this all happened.

As the discussion of who to go where and if or not to divide the parties forces in the face of an unknown enemy, Crow himself had remained quiet. Though surprised at Noctus’s comment on he being the one to choose the party’s means of entrance, he in no way saw himself doing that. Master of the mechanical yes...leader of party, nope, no way, jose.

His thoughts interrupted with Brandr’s final words and the big fighter walking away he quickly turned his eyes to Ela’s and with a quick nod to her proceeded to follow the big man around to the estates rear area’s.

“Brandr let me go first to make sure the way is clear” Crow spoke to him as he quickly passed him by. On the alert for tricks or traps Crow led the way for the two of them till they reached the buildings back door. As he had at the front he examined the door and its lock to see what it would take to open it if locked. If unlocked or once opened he would defer to Brandr and allow the big warrior to enter first, after all this rear entry was his idea.

Crow had remained quiet as the how’s and where to enter had been discussed, knowing that no matter where they entered, front door, back door, window or the like he would be at the front checking for any and all manner of traps.

As Ela and Derry continued to debate the mode of entry he started as thorough a scan of the buildings exterior as he could to try to familiarize himself with the dimension’s of the building’s outside in relation to the interior map they had been shown. As he finished his initial examination, he slowly moved a little closer to the front door. Turning his sights towards it he tried to gauge the type of lock and what he would have to do if indeed the door was locked. Until the rest decided on where to enter all he could was keep alert and try to gain as much info on the building before them as he could from outside of it............
