The Battle outside Rocinante, LV-426, 1:15 pm PT

"John get off the ship now! They are going to destroy it. They know the Violin is not here. Move your ass now!"

"Umm. No can do Fenris *Foosh* Foosh*" John replied, "Tell Willow I'm sorry about her infirmary. du¨¬ b¨´ q¨« gu¨£i m¨£ ji¨£o! *Foosh* Oh Gorram it to hell!"

Wolf ran out the cargo bay hatch with both machine pistols in hand still looking for the Meh, tah mah duh hwoon dahn* with the big caliber handgun he had traded fire with inside the bay. Scanning quickly his attention was caught by the sight of a man in the armor of a Federal Marshall taking out mercs with a energy pulse machine gun. With the mercs all falling down grasping their heads in pain the Fed was having an easy time of it. Just then the Fed looked over at him and screamed "On your left!"

Not waiting to see what was to his left Wolf threw himself to the right out of instinct and it served him well. The big gun Mercenary Wolf had been looking for had been lining him up within his sights but the timely dodge saved the mechanics life. Rolling up on one knee Wolf let fly with both MP's watching as the hail of bullets as he emptied both clips tore the merc apart.

Standing, Wolf holstered both MP's as he approached the downed merc and brought the JC back into his hands. Reaching the clearly dead merc, Wolf took the JC, pointed it at mercs forehead, and pulled the trigger once.

"Yippee-ki-yay Motherf..... That's for Slash and Hack"

Turning to head deeper into the conflict to find the rest of his crewmates, he found himself instead face to face with the Federal Marshal as the man ran up to him.

"You crew? That was totally badass! you hurt? Where is the rest of the crew? Found a blond kid who went off to find his ma." ASH! the kid was alive and looking for Trish. Wolf thought to himself in joy.

"Vasques! I got another live one. Guy just killed a boss big time - game over man!" He clicked his comm mike once, "Colonel! Something is humping these guys brains hard. Ain't fighting back, clinging to their heads like my ex on a date night."

"Yeah I'm crew, mechanic, that's a brain jamming signal from the ship, you can thank us later" Wolf told the hyper Marshal before him. "Which way did the blonde kid go?"

Once told Wolf reloaded both MP's and the JC and headed off in that direction determined to find the rest of the Rocinante's crew..............

Finally realizing that the Beholders and all the rest were nothing but illusions had a two fold effect on the Syl Ranger. First embarrassment at having been so duped, second anger for the same reason. Not one very good at hiding such emotion as anger Crow did not try just allowing it for as the party made ready to move out. With Wembly finding nothing of worth or use to the party, with Mal in front and Crow right behind him. The six moved through yet another portal only to find themselves in the same room as first entered within this island labyrinth.

Once more the walls were of gold fabric with wall hangings and paintings of wilderness landscapes. A watermelon shaped metal object is moving back and forth across the floor in a regular pattern. It has two stubby legs and feet but no head or arms. Against one wall is a simple oak table next to a large corner cabinet of dull metal. On the oak table is what appears to be a wooden cage (for a small animal perhaps?) smashed to pieces. In the other corner is a wooden closet door. A mirror on the opposite wall has a very heavy filigreed frame of unfamiliar metals. Two comfortable sofas and two chairs are arranged in front of a fireplace which glows with a fire and gives off a lovely warmth.

As Crow stood quietly in the room’s center, for a moment he felt more wore out then angry. Was there no end to this maddening maze!

"Looks like we have come full circle” Alôndas stated looking upon the room. “"Well, what now? Do we try again?"

A deep breath and Crow was Crow once more.

“Yes, we have no choice, the only question this time is the same one as has faced us our entire time here, which portal do we choose this time. Suggestions?”

Destiny Cafeteria Day Two

"JC.. looks like you're back in covert ops. And until we sort all this out I want you to sit on this Jien Huo.”

“Ok Captain” Looking towards Asante he started to motion for her to head out into the hallway but the wedding planner was in no way done speaking.

“Jien Huo!?" Asante called out curtly to Jon, "You weren't complaining about me being a Jien Huo! back on Hera when you and I got caught under a heavy bombardment and held up in that church! I'm not surprised that you don't remember me Captain, you really weren't all that interested in my face that night and we both thought we'd were dead! But a lot has happened since then as I got a profession doing what I like and you got really gorram stupid! At least I remembered your face.....

During another few moments of strong words between Jon, his surprising one night stand, the rest of the crew and Catie. All JC could do was remain silent there really was nothing he could add to the conversation that would be of any help. It was Jon’s call to make and no matter what the Ex-gunfighter, Ex-mobster would have his back.....

Just talked to, Kyle, one of the players in my Trilogy game and a RL friend in Texas by phone. He is interested in the Swashbuckler fighter and wanted me to get his dibs in as he is currently at work. He told me to tell you he would be in touch tonight or the next few days.

So that's one character down, Ody maybe Sir Nibbly? I'll still ask around............

Once again sorry for the long gap between posts in all your games Roger as you know life has been a bit of a, hell not sure what to call it.

As the only player left I think you said besides the two Cidals I'm going to try to push them here and there a lil to keep the game and the party moving. I'm hoping this will help keep my mind off of RL a lil.

Crow as normal in the rear of the party took in the throne and the area around it and had a strange image of long haired humans holding weird stringy objects jumping all over it. Another human banged on barrel shaped drums behind them all under crazy flashing lights. This image for whatever reason flashed across his mind then was gone.

"BOW DOWN!!!! BOW DOWN IN THE PRESENCE OF LORD PUTNAM THE GREAT OR ELSE DIE A BURNING DEATH!"

It was here that the Elf Ranger finally noticed that the two Cidals had seated themselves upon the throne and were pushing buttons. As he focused on the voice he saw to his disbelieve a cluster of Beholders had appeared. Quickly drawing his swords he slowly begin to back towards the west portal behind him hoping to go unnoticed and hopefully escape.

"GROVEL INSECT BEFORE THE MIGHTY PUTNUM THE GREAT! OR YOUR DOOM IS ASSURED!"

"Oh hoho! Guys, isn't this great!" the cidal rogue Wembley squealed.

"NOW YOU WILL DIE IN PAIN AND SUFFERING!

Crow with a quick glance behind him found himself at the portals entrance, escape at hand. However it finally registered that none of the rest of the party had moved to escape all watching the two smallest party members playing 'push the button' on the throne. With that he paused seeing the Beholders seemed to be taking no interest in him.

"PUTNAM IS MERCIFUL, IF YOU SUBMIT TO HIS WILL!"

"I want those creatures," Wembley commanded, indicating Crow and the rest of the party, "to be released and left unhindered. They are our guests. Make sure no harm comes to them."

The gigantic beholder moves away from the throne and floats towards the party, “VERY WELL. YOU HAVE BEEN GRANTED MERCY BY LORD PUTNAM THE GREAT. OBEY ALL HIS COMMANDS AND WHIMS OR ELSE WE SHALL RETURN TO EAT YOUR FLESH AND DRAG YOU SOUL DOWN INTO HELL!!!!”

The beholders all vanish again in puffs of smoke and the lighting in the room returns to normal. Crow not looking a gift in the mouth quickly moved, almost at a run, towards the throne and the two Cidals.

“Off that throne right now you two before you create more trouble and bring those creatures back”

Reaching towards them he ‘helped’ them off the throne and back onto the floor in front of it. Turning to the others he decided now was a good time to push them a little.

“Wembley check this room quickly for anything we can use. Malrinn, Dudley, Gamard guard the portal behind the throne we‘ll leave that way. Alôndas up here with me to help cover the room with your magic and my bow as the rogue does his thing.”................

In the cargo bay, Wolf watched as the mercenaries moved back out of the ship leaving their dead and wounded behind and amazingly not returning fire. Wolf wasting no time went down onto one knee, and steadying the AR opened fire at the retreating men. As he did this he kept his eyes moving all the time hunting the old mercenary. But they were retreating and hotfooting off the ship like rats off a sinking ship. He could hear them running.

His shots as accurate as possible he saw a few take hits as they retreated. However Wolf got a sudden bad feeling in his gut about this, something was not right why all of a sudden stop attacking? Then it hit him and the mechanic’s fear was justified as he picked a comm link from a dead enemy and put it to his ear. “

... Repeat pull back immediately. We have location of violin. You may go live and deal with hostiles with extreme prejudice.”

“Ung Jeong Jia Ching Jien Soh.*”

Wolf muttered under his breath as he realized that if the mercs were running from the ship, then something was about to happen to the ship. At that point, Jon’s message came through his comm. “The mercernaries should have a very bad headache right now. Hopefully debilitating. Best I can do make use of it. *sputter* *sputter* *Fhooosh* “Ummm ... Not sure how long it will last so you may wish to act in haste!!”

Ching-wah TSAO duh liou mahng**…. “John get off the ship now! They are going to destroy it. They know the Violin is not here. Move your ass now!”

Wolf hated to leave John or the ship but knew staying aboard could see him dead. Within seconds he was quickly running off the Rocinante. Slinging the JC across his back, he drew his machine pistols, tracking as best he could any new targets. Heading for a good distance from the ship with decent cover the mechanic hopped to survive a possible losing firefight.

As JC sat and listened to the girl, then the Simon/Winchester brothers, he could not help feel the growth of a tight stomach. Their mission of transporting a bride to be had just got massively harder. Yet in the end what they did from this point forwarded was Jon’s option. JC remained quiet waiting on the next shoe to drop and letting the captain do the talking.
After all the flight could not be such a light job right? JC thought to himself ironicly.

Subject: Death of a Best Friend

Today I got the news that my childhood best friend, Ronald S Clark had died. Right now I’m still in a state of numbness about his death and most likely will be for awhile. We meet a lot of people in our lives we devotedly call friends but maybe only 1-2 we call ’My Best Friend’. Someone no matter what will be there with you in the back of a police car. Walking home with you from a party, instead of driving or getting a ride, not because you’re both drunk, but because it’s your car and you lost the keys. Even after fighting each other bloody in your parents driveway, because you put his leather jacket in the oven in a drunken prank, though you never turned the oven on. Ending up at the same ER me with a broken nose, he with a broken hand, still pissed off ready to fight right there once more, yet leaving as friends bandaged from head to toe. Ronnie was the kind of friend you find in a Toby Keith or country song on friendship it’s just that simple. I have been blessed in this life to have met Ronnie and 1 other I would call best friend, my Best Friend Marc Banks here in Texas which is more then some can say. The years went past, I went army, he stayed home, and on a drunken night driving down some unremembered road became paralyzed from the waist down and wheelchair bound. I blamed myself a long time for being in North Carolina at Fort Bragg and not in Maryland to take away his keys once more.

I met Ronnie at a place called Ridgeway Elementary school and it was a friendship that would last literally till today. Yeah we did not keep in touch like we should have, but we never lost touch. Life takes us so very often away from the people that mean the most to us and then by the time we realize we should have found a way to make that time, call more often, more visits, its too late.
Ronnie and I lol what can you say, no matter what, GF’s, social A-holes or just plain jealous people. People that wanted the friendship he and I had, and tried to come between us, never once did we allow them stop us from being friends. This month marks 1 year since I saw him last in Maryland a meeting that lasted all of 5 minutes as he kicked me and another friend out of his home. I was so hurt and could not at first understand why. Then I realized he did not want us to see him like that all gaunt and sickly looking breathing through a canister of air. Not because he was embarrassed by it but he did not want us to leave with such an image overlaying the ones of the past. That’s the kind of guy he was. I know no one here at the Inn knows him but I still wanted to show you all what a true friend looks like in much better days. This is how I will always remember him….. Thank you all for your indulgence and to the Inn where I can still say goodbye to a friend..

Glad to see you back at the Inn and I hope you do find a new game. As for Trilogy just last week I finally opened Lothor for a new player. Thanks to Odyson I was able to find a new player within 1 day.

Funny how so many times after I open and find a new player for an existing character, the old player returns. I think the Gods of AD&D are pranking me.

Again though Welcome back.

Destiny Cafeteria Day Two

For all of his yelling JC knew in the end it was pointless. Though the gunfighter knew Angela was fast and powerful he had never really until this very moment realized just how fast. Where being fast is the life and death of a gunfighter in a gunfight JC knew that somehow the petite girl in front of him could quite simply be the fastest thing he ever seen. In his mind he wondered just what she was, like himself her speed was not, could not, be fully human.

At this point in his thinking Jon entered the room and as his position as Captain warranted started asking for what had happened. As JC watched Jon harrumphed at Seth on the floor and then stepped over to Angela,

"What happened here, give me the facts."

Angela then in her detailed style reported. She explained about Lillianna's breakdown and Seth entering the room weapon drawn endangering the crew, ship and passengers. As JC listened closely he discreetly watched the reaction of Asante.

"I subdued the aggressor and neutralized the situation."

“18 seconds.” Grace interjected with a muffled giggle. JC’s head snapped around so fast to look at the mechanic he could almost feel something break.

“Wuo duh MA!”*

Jon looking from Gracie back to Seth and the battery pack on the floor then back to her, smiled and said "Good work".

Turning to the crew and passengers as Tess returned with the med kit for Steph, he gave out orders.

“Rick, AJ would you be so kind as to help the good Doctor when she is finished here and carry this man to the sick bay?”

“Doctor”, he said with emphasis and respect, “please call JC when Seth regains consciousness.”

“JC… when Seth is able to understand please remind him again of the dangers of carrying weapons onboard a freighter and that his cooperation to leaves these in safe place would be appreciated."

“Yes sir captain” If Jon wanted to present a professional front, who was he to not to follow the Captain’s lead. As Jon walked to the kitchen area and refilled his cup, JC sat down at the table at its end far enough away from the still quaking Lillian to not be in the way. As Jon joined him across from Lillian The Captain spoke to her.

“Now would be a good time to tell us everything.”

That's Olan

Crow looks at it this way, each room is a different type of magic specific to that room. So what happens in one room, like being allowed to leave armed in one room does not mean that will always be the case.

As for direction though he is a Ranger and a possible good tracker above ground, underground he sucks.

Pretty much why he just follows the others............

Crow had to admit after his initial misgivings about the food it had been quite tasty and filling. However always the pessimist as he watched the rest of the group fill up packs and pouches, the Elf Ranger himself took only a few strips of jerky. As with all the magic within this maze so far, to Crow, it seemed that each different type of magic was contained specifically to the room it appeared in. He had a hunch trying to take any with them would fail but not to look stupid if his thought turned truth he took enough just in case.

By the time their roundabout continuation of travel once more brought them back to the dinner, Crow’s suspicion about the food had proven correct though he made no remark about it. Remaining quiet as was his nature he waited on the rest to decide where to go next.

Wolf saw that his sustained fire was having good effect against the incoming mercs but knew it would not stop them. Then as if Buddha has heard his prayer the mercs actually started to withdraw.

*BANG*

A sound like a cannon going off behind him caused Wolf to turn towards it and he watched as Hack was hit so hard that he spun backwards and flipped over the catwalk to the bay below. A second later another loud bang and Wolf watched as Slash's head exploded, the remains of him dropping on the ground. Head down Wolf searched for the shooter finding him.

The shooter was an older man with a huge weapon on the opposite side to the one the Mechanic was attacking. Ass Wolf tried to turn the assault rifle the old man’s way the older man moved back to the cover granted behind the door.

“Ke wu de lao Hwoon dahn”*

However as Wolf tried to gain a better position on him, he was suddenly hit in his vest by two bullets as one of the soldiers covering the merc’s withdrawal fired at Wolf with his sidearm. The pain and impact intense the Mechanic was able to hold it together not losing consciousness.

Grunting in pain he continued to move forward to the open bay doors. Having already reloaded the JC with his third clip,he went hunting the older merc. However as he reached those same doors Wolf watched as the mercenaries moved back out of the ship leaving their dead and wounded behind and amazingly not returning fire. Wolf wasting no time went down onto one knee, and steadying the AR opened fire at the retreating men. As he did this he kept his eyes moving all the time hunting the old mercenary.

“Seth, even Asante agrees with me it seems” Turning to her JC smiles “We just need to find out what isn’t right in all this.”

Seth opened his mouth to answer when suddenly there was the sound of a plate crashing to the floor and then a woman crying loudly and hysterically. Seth leapt up and ran to the doorway , putting his gloved hand in the air and shouting Qiâng!. The gun that he left on the shelf suddenly leapt off the shelf and flew across to Seth's waiting hand as he ran out and down the hallway.

Asante laughed sardonically, "He may not like what Templeton did during the war but he does like that toy. " she grabbed her suit jacket and throw it over her shoulders, "I'm sure you need to attend to the drama so let's go but I'd love to talk later."

“I’d like that my Lady” JC replied, another cocky charm filled smile on his face.

As they followed Seth out of the gym JC to say the least was a little bit surprised to see Seth’s firearm go from shelf to the bodyguards hand and Asante talk of it as if it was a normal everyday thing. Whatever this ‘toy’ was the Gunfighter would have to find out more about it. If nothing else he had learned an important fact about Seth. Never consider him unarmed if within sight of his firearm be it on table or shelf. With the ability to get his hands on his handgun that fast he was more dangerous then ever.

As he and the wedding planner entered the Galley they were just in time to see Angela move to subdue Seth. Knowing there was no way he could physically intervene fast enough to stop the potentially fatal attack, still he moved forward shouting to her.

“Angela no don’t kill him!”

(OOC: I’ll try to get to her and talk her down if possible without trying to touch her unless she allows me too.)
