As Maximus tried to decipher Arien’s motives and why he would turn on the party, a burst of fierce pain shot through his head almost causing him to fall to the floor. His reaction at first to attack whatever it was causing this pain he could not help but take a step back upon realizing that it was caused by the little dragon.
Then with the pain receding and the dragon once again within the boys clothing Maximus gave it a last glare and turned his attention to the matter of the unconscious knight.
“Char, Kilgrim can either of you do anything to get Arien back to normal, we cannot stay here long, we must move soon.”
With his words spoken and the pain all but gone he could only hope Jal was ok.

Highnar was grateful if not a little surprised when both Lorae and Brianna did offer to relive his pain brought about from the monster standing only yards away.
“Aye Lass’s that I would much be thankful for it seems that as you say I have for the moment survived yon monsters wrath.”
With their aid the dwarf once again started to feel as his old self and as Xour did speak of watch's did offer to take the first one.
“I’ll be taki’n the first watch so that ye who fought most in the battle may gain the rest I be sure you be needing.”
With those words spoken Highnar did set himself to stand watch....

Malius did stare at the one named Draven as he awaited any type of reply; it was not long in coming.
"Evil?" The Dwarf’s Guland’s voice was sincere, his expression genuine. "There is no evil within this house, my friend. My merchants may be as profit minded as I am, but they would not call for the service of evil. Besides, I pay handsomely to have my precious belongings warded against the evil intended, so you need not fear. Surely one such as yourself wouldn't dare to judge a person on their looks alone, would you?"
As Malius looked once again to the human, the man’s face remained slightly bowed, and veiled behind his raven hair.
"It is not this ones looks I worry of, but what he radiates from himself and I sense evil about him, prove to me he is not such and I will silence my words of anger"
Suddenly as if to break the tension rising, the dwarf female Loda, ran from the room, looking for the bathroom.
A soft chuckle had begun to roll across the table, for all to hear, as the human began to laugh. And when he spoke, his harsh voice was wreathed in mocking humor. It’s disgust was very clearly an overtone.
“So terrified of what you do not understand, elf. Is the darkness really so frightening?”
Now the man finally looked up, and Malius got his first good look at him as he flung his hair over his shoulders. He really was a handsome creature, in a very dark, way. His pale skin was like marble, and his eyes burned like two embers, but his high cheekbones and proud features were that of a warrior.
“I will not do harm within this mans house, and I advise you do the same. If your...convictions remain so strong when we have left his property, then I invite you to attempt to cleanse this evil.”
At first Malius did not reply for to start a fight in the dwarf’s home was not why he had come here. Mayhap what he had thought was evil was just the dark nature of this human and the sins of the man’s past. The Human race unlike that of elves was full of dark things and though not totally evil leaned to it closet of all the races.
Perhaps he had been too quick to assume the human was evil.
It was here before Malius could say these thoughts out loud that the 2nd dwarf Geimiedefher spoke up and the conversation turned back to the mission at hand.
With a last look and a nod as to acknowledge the Human’s right of things, and his invitation, Malius did turn his attention back to Guland as Loda returned to the room.
“Thank you, my good friend.” Guland added. With a thin cloth he wiped some sweat from his now red forehead.
“I can say that I didn’t expect such a harsh reaction from you all. But perhaps I was wrong to assume anything else. You are new to each other, but you all came to my calling. Let’s settle down a bit, and see how this food tastes. Perhaps there are matters that you wish to know before you go on you trip.”
I started my enterprises myself, long ago. Everything you see I built up from nothing. I hardly have the time to sit down and talk with you like this. Therefore, I will not go with you on your adventurous path. My good friend, Geim, who you have already met, will go in my stead.” He pointed at the Runemaster and bit into a piece of red meat.
“I cannot supply you with a map or much more information than you already have about the area you’re heading towards. Little is know about it. That’s why I need brave people such as I hope you are.”
“You will travel through the Sylvari kingdom of Alloryen. It’s the fastest way to the Chakran Mountains. When the Chakrandrum were still alive, their existed a portal, that linked the two cities directly. It was created when the Syl’s and our races were at war. It was just another trade route, really. When the Chakrandrum died, so did the portal. It is now hidden in darkness, in the Warrens of Rvisthorn. I don’t know why I’m telling you this. It is of no use to you. Many Khords have tried to restore its power, but alas… You will have to take the long route.”
Malius listened and could not help but speak on the trip they were about to take.
“Good dwarf I caution thee to first gain the approaval of the elves themselves, for traveling as such without that may be considered by them as a trespass."
Again as it seemed to be becoming normal, Malius awaited a response.

Ok your right my post was a little inflamatory but trust me I would never have Maximus attack Adrian. Its just after a lifetime of slavery and torture at the hands of the reds and being that Valentine and Jal are the only two to cast magic who do you think Maximus in his anger is going to think did this to Dapple and Arien.
Thats why instead of attacking Adrian he is trying to stop Dapple from attacking Arien which if you think about it is sorta the same as me. Arian is trying to get to Dapple to kill her and she has lost her composure so to speak and is trying to kill Arien.
The only differance I can see is I shouted out that I would kill Valentine where Dapple said nothing. But I will delete the post with no hard feelings to anyone. Admiral I hope you did not think it was personal ok, I was just playing the character. Sorry to everyone.

Subject: The Greatest of Evils
It seemed to Highnar that he was in the grip of an evil god, a creature meant to take his soul and grind it into paste, a monster more evil then any he had ever faced before and its name was horse.
Then finally just as the monster was to finish him off a meadow was found, and he was helped off the monsters back to fall gratefully back to earth. The dwarf then and there made a vow no matter what he would not return to the back of the monster before him, which seemed to Highnar to be laughing at him even now.
“Away with ye, ya evil beast I’ll not have ye laughing at me. Better I take me axe to ya's and turn you into my dinner now”
With his words spoken he moved to find himself a soft place to sit as to not put too much weight on his very painful posterior.
Brianna called for a cook and Highnar knew that he would not be the one for his cooking skills were just below his ability to ride. For now the dwarf would relax and try to forget the pain in his ass.....

As Malius awaited a reply from the hooded one, his fingers itched to draw his sword and skewer him. The aura of darkness about this one did raise warnings in the elf’s mind and the longer he did not reply the more his aura screamed evil.
His hand on the swords hilt, the blade slowly coming forth, then an open door and a dwarves voice behind him.
“My friends, I’m sorry I’ve kept you waiting.” the voice was deep and echoed through the study. “Please accept my apologies. I am Guland Granitefiners and I welcome you into my home.”
Malius, with a last look at the one before him, the Ranger did move to stand with a clear view of both the newly arrived Dwarf, and the hooded one. But before he could do so they were on the move to the dinning room Malius making sure that the hooded one was to the front of him and not the back.
Taking a place at the table with a clear view of the hooded one he listened to what the dwarf had to say.
“By now you must be very anxious to learn what it is that I want from you. I’ve paid you handsomely just to come here, and I thank you all for answering my call. The fact of the matter is that I’m forming a kind of expedition. I will not lie to you. There could be some serious danger involved in this search, but also great reward.
This tome was recently discovered. It is written in draconic, and tells of the invasion of Chakranna. As you may know, this city was once a beautiful Chakrandrum settlement until goblins and ogres raided it and wiped out our brothers for good. This happened long ago, but there are hints in this tome that something was hidden; something the goblins and ogres were looking for. If I’m assuming correctly, the Chakrandrum hid their most precious of items and knowledge when they were attacked. Your mission will be to find this secret place, and retrieve whatever it is that is hidden there. I’m sure you understand what it would mean for my business if I found the ancient lore of the Chakrandrum, eh?”
At that Malius did speak up.
“Yes you would gain power and wealth beyond that of any living dwarf, even a king, is that why you call forth one of Evil, dwarf”

Subject: Situation Normal all ****** Up
Maximas, one moment the happiest of the party, now found himself the most confused at what had turned from a simple scout mission by the two mages, into the Knight turning into a raving madman. Had the Red mage's from the keep discovered them and cast foul madness upon Arien. As Maximus stood confused as to what to do next, he heard words coming out of Arien’s mouth, Twins, Elf, something about men, but he paid them no mind, as Arien lunged at Dapple and Char moved to tackle him and Dapple with a cry of "liar" moved to attack Arien. With things totally out of control Maximus lunged to grab Dapple and stop the boy from reaching Arien. Somehow something had caused the two old friends to want to kill the other....

As Croaker again listened to Preacher’s words he once again had to agree, getting from where they were at, to where they needed to be was gonna be a bitch.
But in the long run they really had no choice.
“Your right Preacher in that getting across is gonna be a real pain, but as far as them knowing that we were already here, no I don’t think so. If they did know we were here they’d be all over us by now for sure. We need some kind of distraction to get those guys on the roof to move away long enough for us to get across the street."
Taking his cell phone from his pocket his fingers dialed a well known number, a number he thought he’d never dial again.
(Assuming the phone is picked up)
“Hello Frankie, its Richard, before you hang up hear me out.”
(Assuming he continues to listen)
“I am not happy about you wanting a story so bad that you had to try and follow us and hired that pair of runners to help you. I thought you and I were chummers.”
(Brief pause by Croaker)
“But be that as it may and with the trouble you have caused I should just write you off as a chummer find you and kill you, but I need your help. I need you to meet me here.”
(Croaker gives directions to an abandoned building 2 miles away)
“How long will it take for you to get there?”
(Listening to his response)
“Also if you can get ahold of one or two extra runners we could use the firepower. Do this for me Frankie and you’ll get your story, I will get the girl, and then we will go our separate ways without having to look over our shoulder wondering which one of us kills the other first."
(A second pause to let Croakers words sink in)
“So we got a deal.”
