Topic: The Avengers.... What did you think
Subject: A First in a long time

Well I can say with 100% clarity that the Avengers is the greatest Super Hero movie to date. For the first time in a very long time, the last time being the Crow w/Brandon Lee when it came out years ago, I saw it tonight for a second time this week. Call me crazy but I am thinking of seeing it one more time, this time in 3D, on the big screen next week.

If your a comic book super hero fan I urge you not to miss this on on the big screen at least once for I do not believe a T.V screen will do it justice

Also I found a great Anime site that has both Seasons of The Avengers Earth's Mightest Hero's and alot of other good adult type cartoons like the new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and the new Transformers Prime cartoon. Check it out here is the address.

Saw it for the second time this week and it is for sure the Mad Titan himself. Had a very funny moment this showing as when Tony kissed Pepper a small girl in the audiance loudly said "ewooo". Everyone laughed.....
Sometimes it pays to see a movie more then once

Also did anyone like the second after credts scene at the total end of the credits with them all sitting around the table eating, not saying a word. as Iron Man had suggested at Swarmies I think he called the place?

Subject: Cap's customs

The reason behind the custom change is significant. It’s supposed to be a visual sign of his entering the modern world from a world still in the midst of WWII when he left. Yeah the custom is a little off from the one I knew as a kid but does it really matter? We get to see Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk, Hawkeye and a Beautiful Redhead the Black Widow kick butt, what could be better then that.

Also if you like anime DisneyXD is right now showing the 2nd season of The Avenger's Earth's Mightest Hero's Sunday mornings at 10.35am central time.

The main storyline right now deals with the upcoming Kree/Skrull war and the Skrull have replaced a few super hero's with imposters including Cap and Susan Richards aka the Invisible Women of the Fantastic Four.

The first season of this cartoon was excellent and so far so is this one. If you want to see the episodes from season 1 till now go to youtube and look them up as they are there in different forms.

Hey the Wasp is cool and a LITTLE sexy. Well the theatre where I go has $5 dollar movies between 4-6 so there is always at least one $5 show of all the movies playing there. I'm planning on spending $10 for both a Monday/Tuesday showing as I already know I'll be seeing this movie more then once.

Though it has yet to open in the U.S, I found a very good review of the film online and present it here.

Personally I cannot wait for this movie to open Friday so I can go see it Monday the 7th after the opening weekend Rush & Crush. The Avengers and X-Men have always been my favorite superhero teams so to finally see Cap and the rest on the big screen is a young comic book reading kid's dream finally come true. Enjoy the review.....

Subject: Couple of Questions

Loki you say if you have Time you'd maybe like to join the game as Jak. My question is will you have enough time to devote to a one post a week minimum type schedule. That’s what I’m looking for in a player for this game.

Chessicfayth just last week you posted that you would be in and out of the Inn to lurk but due to Real Life had no time for a game and you apologized to your present DM’s. Has that changed somehow? If not then I’ll have to thank you for the Interest but say no to you joining. However if you feel you can devote the time I’m looking for in a player I will give you a chance if Loki does not come through.

As it’s unclear if Loki and Chessicfayth can devote the time to the game, I’m still looking for 1 more player. Please do not be afraid to show your interest in the character and the game.

Thanks

Looks like we have our party Leader so I'm still looking for two more.

Think about it Innmates are you strong enough to survive in a post nuke world 100 years after what became known as "Skydark". I know there's at least one more Lady and one more Gentleman bold enough to make the attempt.

So step right up and join us in the Deathlands!

Subject: Here's a real life incident

When I first started running my game the Trilogy War here in Texas I had one player playing a non-human fighter though I am unsure of his race but it was Half-Human half-something. Well during one of the many physical tests the party faced was a revolving circular tube type wall and a lone one person wide bridge crossing between doorways. As the party of 8 reached halfway spikes sprouted out of the wall and some started firing at the party, while most stayed in place. Well the Half-human player decided the best defense was a good offense and so jumped off the bridge and bit one of the spikes just as it was firing!

Needless to say the party had to waste one of their few Raise Dead spells to bring him back, they were not happy...........

Subject: Looking for 3 good RPG Players

Ok Innmates due to Alacrity shutting down all but one of his games because of more important real life matter’s, I find myself with time once more to try and run my proposed DEATHLANDS game. So as the Title said I’m looking for 3 players to round out a 6 player party. I already have 3 players signed up but that still lives 2 Male and 1 Female character needing players.
The characters open along with their backgrounds are below. However be aware I’m gonna be a little picking on the party leader position as that’s a very important role in this type of game.

RYAN CAWDOR (Party Leader) FILLED
Known to many as a legend in the Deathlands due to his extensive travels. His reputation is almost as great as the Trader's. Many have crossed his path and ended up chilled (slang for killed) or set free from a tyrannical baron. Ryan prefers wag travel to walking on foot, yet finding a fueled and operable vehicle is rare. He can be seen wearing a dusty worn denim shirt and olive drab combat fatigues. He wears a white scarf that serves as a weighted garrote which is often overlooked when he is stripped of his weapons.

His hair is black, thick and curly. His most distinct features are a white scar running down the side of his face and a black eye patch over his damaged eye. His visage earned him the name 'One Eye Chills' by the native American tribesmen. As a boy, Ryan killed a man over the ownership of a horse. The other man ended up dying. He was about to be hung when a woman claimed that she saw the whole thing and managed to persuade the mob to leave the boy alone. Reluctantly the mob agreed and he was given into the care of the woman, who, used him each night in her bed for saving his life, her name was Sharona Carson.

Ryan first met the Trader as a younger man at the age of 21 after having left Sharona the Trader had his own security locks built into all his war wags. He was just returning to War Wag one which he used as both home and office. After activating the security code he slipped inside and was about to start the vehicle up when he felt the cold metal of a handgun dig into the back of his neck. A cold, calm voice warned him that if he moved he'd have his brains splattered all over the windshield.

Warning his would be assailant that if that happened, he'd outlive him by about thirty seconds if he was lucky, he was told by his assailant that he heard that nothing fazes the old warrior. Trader laughed and said that yes, he's bothered at having a large caliber handgun placed against the back of his neck. He then ask the intruder how he managed to get past the sec locks.

The intruder answered without a trace of cockiness that it had been quite easy. Trader knowing that gaining access to War Wag One was far from easy, knew that it was not simply the intruder being boastful, but being open and honest. The Trader then asked the man if he was there to steal the vehicle. The man answers that maybe he does, but he wants to head outside and talk about it.

When they stepped outside the Trader was able to take a good look at the man who introduced himself as Ryan Cawdor. With his blaster aimed just below Trader's heart, the Trader asked Ryan if he planned to kill him or if he rather join him instead after a moments thought Ryan answered yes to the joining and so it was that Ryan Cawdor became a member of the Traders Convoy

While traveling with the Trader he has gained a large amount of combat experience. As point man for the group he employs an 18 inch panga and a SIG P226 with a well worn silencer. When covering his companions he attacks his enemies with a 5.56mm M4 Assault Rifle.

Ryan is disdainful of both science and religion. He almost always speaks about the pre-war scientists poorly, calling them 'White Coats'. Doc Tanner has consistently painted a picture of pre-war scientists as ruthless in their quest for knowledge. Throughout his travels he has seen a few videos and photos from the 20th century. He knows that life before sky dark was full of technology, food and people living in large cities. He is always looking for fragments of pre-war life.

While living at Front Royal, he learned to read and write although he almost never reads for pleasure, as he regards this as a bittersweet reminder of his life there. He is mostly pragmatist, yet he does have some semblance of morality and purpose of life. As a young man, Ryan grew up as privileged as one could be in the Deathlands, he was raised by a caring mother and father. His first fire fight as a young man was against a web fingered mutant who he killed with a worn Armalite AR-18 old rifle. Some time later, Ryan killed a man in a heated argument over the ownership of a horse. He was about to be executed in a public hanging, but a sultry woman from the mob claimed that she saw the whole thing and managed to persuade the crowd to leave him alone.

After the crowd disbanded and the situation was defused his guardian became that same woman. She had sex with him each night as payment for saving his life. His father, Lord Titus Cawdor, was killed in an attempted power grab by another citizen. Lord Titus was murdered by his second wife Rachel while intoxicated on the drug Jolt. His older brother Morgan was killed that same night. Ryan resents his brother for playing a poor part in his upbringing. Ryan was forced to flee Front Royal from his second brother, Harvey, who had seized power in a coup. Wounded, he headed for the back country of Virginia to escape his brother.

There he met the famous Trader and was accepted into his ranks and was named War Captain after 10 years and many a firefight.

JAK LAUREN OPEN
An albino teenager from the Atchafalaya Basin swamps just north of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jak appears to be a young man of 23, but is in reality, only seventeen. He is very lean but well muscled his face is thin and pinched, appearing to be malnourished. His nose is narrow and has a crooked scar across it. Another scar is on the left cheek, tugging the corner of his mouth upwards into a crooked smile. His hair is a tumbling mane of the purest white, like fine silk.

He is probably the best martial artist in all of the Deathlands, quicksilver fast, deadly to the extreme. His aim with his throwing knives is impeccable, but he is only an average shot with a handgun.

Like Kristy, Jak is a mutant. At the age of fourteen, he was already considered a legendary warrior by his West Lowelton gang. Through his skills at cunning and brutality he earned the nickname, "The White Wolf" from his gang.

In their first meeting, Jak, in a challenge of leadership, threw one of his throwing knives several feet into the air and on its descent, caught the leaf bladed knife between his teeth impressing Ryan and Kristy. However that same night amidst a coup he witnessed his father tarred, burned and hanging from a flag pole in retaliation for his winning. Ryan and Kristy seeing the odds against him took him under their wing and convinced the Trader to let him join the group. A natural hunter and tracker, he can find nearly any trail, and move silently and unnoticed almost anywhere. Due to being an albino, his eyesight is reasonably normal in light, but in the dark, he has astounding night vision. Death surrounds Jak like a cloak and there is no one better at causing it then this albino.

DR. MILDRED WINONA WYETH FILLED
A 20th century doctor of cryogenics, a top class surgeon and trauma specialist and Olympic silver medallist sharpshooter. Dr. Wyeth an African American, was placed in cryogenic sleep in December of 2000 in an attempt to save her life after a life threatening allergic reaction to the anesthesia that was used in an operation almost killed her. Having been found by the Trader deep inside the twisted climate of Minnesota at a military research complex called Blackwood Center for Chemical and Neurological Research her body resting in a nuclear powered computer-controlled cryogenic suspension unit at the Shelly Cryogenic Institute.

She was unfrozen to find herself in perfect health after 100 years asleep. Mildred at first fell under the groups moniker 'Freezie' a name used to describe the few individuals who had been awoken from their pre-dark cryogenic state. However with her background revealed, via the cryogenic patient database, she was revived from the cryogenic suspension immediately for her skills.

The revived Mildred is headstrong, strong willed and was acknowledged by the Traders people to be the best shot in the entire Deathlands. She has become close friends of with the other five members of the small group referring to them playfully to others as a redheaded medium, an albino street punk, a two hundred year old fart, a gun freak and a one eyed killer.

Almost from the onset her and Doc Tanner began a friendly rivalry. They constantly snipe at one another but when the chips are down they will defend each other to the bitter end. J.B. Dix and Mildred have at times become romantically involved, in a friends with benefits type of way, as emotional expression is not one of J.B.'s strong points, though the fact that she saved his life once has caused the bond between the two of them to grow even stronger.

Mildred often serves as an instructor and interpreter of pre-dark culture when found.
She is the group's sniper and Medic.

For more info on the characters themselves Stats, Weapons, Hit points, etc… go to the Q/A section and look up the DEATHLANDS CHARACTERS thread. Most of your questions should be answered there but if not feel free to send me a PM or post it here. I look forward to getting this game once more off and running.

Welcome Saki I see you accepted my invite to our site and hope more of the D20 project do so. As I said in my email to you there are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn. Also a good place to start here is “Pit F(r)iend's epic guide to getting started for newbies.”. Which itself was written by an Inn member to help new people just like you figure out how to navigate the halls of the Inn.

I myself hope to possibly get more involved with your group over time and meet you and the other members of D20 living here in Texas at a later date, possibly here in San Antonio at next years ChimaeraCon or sooner.

Quick question will you or any of your group be at MillenniumCon 15 up near Austin on the 9-12th of Nov??
Here's a link to it
millenniumcon.org/top-frame.html
Let me know as I myself will be there Friday night and all day Saturday.

Also one last thing here’s a towel, always keep it handy as Eol, another one of our staff members likes to lick newcomers and he sometimes forgets who he has licked and then licks them again...........

Welcome to the Red Dragon.

EDIT: Well I see I was too late and he licked you first. Sorry for not giving you the Inn towel sooner :-/
