BACKPOST

Mkoll saw the slap coming and could easily have avoided it, to be blunt he could just as easily have blocked it but he chose not to do so. Let the Inquisitor have her fun, let her feed her need to feel dominate it made no difference to him. He was a good scout, one of the best in fact or he would not be here, but in the end all that mattered to him was survival and one day returning to Colonel-Commissar Gaunt and the 1st & Only.

Make no mistake he was as dedicated to service in the God Emperor’s army as any Space Marine, Inquisitor or Imperial guardsmen but deep down his loyalty would always be 100% to the man who had brought them, all but one of them, home from the planet Gereon.
His cheek red from Carrigan’s hand he nodded to her and made his way out to walk the halls of the black ship.

PRESENT

“Everyone! Stay where you are and continue doing whatever you were doing! Nobody is to leave their current locations. Complete lockdown!

Piscivorus get to deck 29, NOW!"

The Autogun off his shoulder, safety off and pre prepped for firing the Tanith Sgt of Scouts headed fast for deck 29.

With the lifts arrival on deck 29 Mkoll headed out first autogun at the ready and moving quickly down the hallway, past Arcturious and his servitor to the corridor spilt.

“Ghustel take the left, I have the right, Battle Sister please cover us, stay close to the wall as you move down the hall”

With his advice given Mkoll moved down towards the moaning at a slow alert pace Autogun ready.............

“We need a RV or something close let’s try for that if we can”

“You wanna head into Pacifica or down to Rancho Coronado then? I mean, aside from a dealership, or a garage, we ain’t likely gonna find us an RV here.” To emphasize, Bull’s Eye spread his hands out in a sweeping gesture that drew one’s attention to the compact city-oriented vehicles that crowded the curbs.

“Whatever the case,” Firewind added, still hunching against the weather. “Can we move this discussion away from the edgy man with the submachine gun?”

“Firewind’s right lets calmly move on, as far as where to go Pacifica’s out too much sec so we head to Rancho Coronado by taxi or bus depending on our available Euro’s.”

With that said Croaker moved the six of them away from the armed sec.

Outside of The Red Lantern – East Marina – Night City – March, Friday 13th, 2020, 12:14pm

As they moved out from the cover of the Red Lanterns overhang they followed Bulls Eye’s lead as they attempted to locate a suitable ride. As they walked Croaker was wrapping his mind around the problems facing them.

“There,” Bull’s Eye’s gravel-filled voice brought their attention around. The group had progressed a few minutes down the street, working their way past shops, alleys, and restaurants until they’d come to a wide, one-way street that cut back between two red brick buildings tagged by graffiti.
“Don’t no one point, or do nothin’ stupid like that. Just gather up like we’re talking lunch.”

Looking to where Bulls Eye had directed their attention he took in the truck, the three gun men and the narrowness of the alley

“Yeah, I know. There’s three obstacles, and one of them has heat, but that’s a delivery van, and it appears to be office supplies, so it could be an excuse for bein’ up that way if we ace it. You’re call, Croaker. You want this one, or do we keep lookin’?”

“We keep looking last thing we need is another street firefight.”

With MDK’s look of having struck out on a place to stay they were running out of options. For now he would keep it simple ride first, shelter next if they could find an RV that would solve both problems

“We need a RV or something close let’s try for that if we can”

"Kane what's the four one one?"

“No change Lt still got the glow but nothing else, also we did not find any way to unplug without going into the light. What are your orders sir?”

"All right, well, it is safe to assume that the people stationed here tried to shut the power down on it and failed, but we can't act on assumptions, so you and your fire team are to finish clearing this level, and then you're heading down to the access tunnel in order to secure the power station where you'll try shutting down power from there upon my order. Keep radio communication active. I want a play-by-play, and our enemy encounters thus far haven't led me to believe we're dealing with anything that can intercept our transmissions, so be vocal, everyone. All communications are to be on the open bandwidth, read me?"

“Understood Lt open mic all the way.”

With orders given, Kane turned to the 3 troopers with him.

“Ok you heard the Lt we finish recon on this Level then we head down, same formation as before, move out.”

With only three rooms left to check it was for the most part clear to the Staff Sergeant that this level was except for the two soldiers found in room 16 deserted. Even so Kane had too many years in service to let his guard or that of the other three to lapse.
Until they were all back in the real world they would stay 100% alert and locked and loaded ready for combat.

(OOC: If nothing happens till we reach stairway down)

“Lt, we have reached the access stairway, headed down at this time over”

(OOC: Will stop here as to not get ahead of Olan )

Fenris, his butt planted behind the wheel, took the mule out of the bay area of the ship fast almost before both Wyatt and Asher had seated themselves.

As the mule peeled out the door and into the sunlight, Fenris got his first look at the mob of people covering what seemed to be the whole the landing field

“Oh f***ing sh*t!! Hold on!!”

With his arms on fire, yanking the big hauler to the left with all his might, he just managed to miss the people in front as they all scattered away.

“Sorry!!”

But just as Wolf thought them clear there in front of him was that d**n band still playing on totally unaware of his approach. Laying on the air horn, Fenris got their attention but too late as he barreled into them, instruments flying everywhere, and bodies too, but of their own accord and not from the mule.

“Well good day to learn to fly I guess”

Fenris could not help saying aloud as the trombone player, Mattie, dived to the right as the trumpet player, Dexter, went left. The tubby one, Charlie, holding his big drum dropped to the ground and it was all the mechanic could do to miss him. Jacks, the big man playing the tuba, clearly had said to hell with his instrument throwing it into the air and running like the devil or worse yet the Alliance was chasing him down.

“Hey Jacks, nice day huh!!”

Fenris yelled at him as they passed him by. Finally with no crowds or brass bands to hog the road he slammed his foot onto the speed pedal and let the mule have its head with a snort of white smoke from it’s a** as if rocket powered up the main street Fenris knowing it was the fastest and most direct route to the bank.

But just as he passed by Bailey’s Barn and the Livery Stables, customers and buyers looking at them as if insane, there before him coming straight on was another hover vehicle. By its shape Wolf knew it was the daily stage coach style mail mule and it was as normal driving down the center of the road. As he moved the Rocinante mule to the left he placed his foot on the break… only to find no brakes!!.

“Oh F***!! Cap’n, Asher hold on we lost the brakes.”

Knowing the length of the main strip was not that long and would cause him to have to turn soon Wolf knew trying to fix whatever was wrong, hell finding out what was wrong, would be damn near impossible, but he had to try.

“Asher take the wheel I gotta try to fix the God****n brakes”

As the gunslinger moved to do so the new mechanic moved quickly dropped down and proceeded to try wiring the air horn to the brakes as a temporary fix. Not sure if his plan would work he called to his two passengers.

“Asher, Cap’n, get ready to bail out if you can by the bank, I will try to slow her and make the turn at streets end.”

(EDITED POST / OOC: Ok theres Wolf’s redone actions for the moment per the DM‘s advise. Hopefully I can fix the brakes and make the turn, then I can slow the mule and maybe still help at the bank.)

"Kane: without touchin' anything, see if you leathernecks can't find the power source for that equipment. Blake thinks it might be a field generator."

“Understood sir”

“Lee, cover the room, Parson, cover the door, Johannsen with me.”

As Kane and the medic did a rapid search of the large room it was clear that the device was wired into the station's power via a large cable that led directly into the floor beneath the device. It was clear that the only way to unplug the ‘machine’ was to enter the blue glowing area surrounding it.

Though the staff sergeant was all ready to do so he had his orders from the Lt and after a lifetime of taking orders he was not about to disobey his first one. This was no TV show or movie where the hero did his own thing regardless of his orders, this was the real world and stupid stunts like that only got you and your men killed.

Returning to the main door area Kane kept everyone at the same level of alert as while he and Inga had been searching. He knew all they could at the moment was wait for the Lt to arrive and decide on the best course of action....

I do plan on returning but right now I had to make the hard choice of what games I had to stop playing and which ones to continue full time and part time. Hope I have not offended anyone still in the game.

I still have it subscribed and will continue to follow it so when I return I will be up to date.

Topic: Innocence Proves Nothing - Warhammer 40,000
Subject: Mkoll has a request or three LOL

Mkoll had reached the Inquisitor’s office last of the four of them due to the lateness of receiving Carrigan’s ‘summoning’. Choosing not to sit he leaned against the door frame entrance to her office and quietly listened to what the meeting was all about.

“Ghustel, Mkoll, Tazi, Daggerfall… I have called the four of you here to inform you that I have placed extremely high standards on your work. You are to be my top team, designated Piscivorus. The name is High Gothic for a breed of snakes found back on Terra. I expect you to move silently, and strike fiercely. When you can’t move silently, then I expect you to move loudly and leave nobody to testify as to your actions. You shall be my hands when I have other issues to which to attend. When we reach Terra, we will be leaving this ship, finally free of this duty.”

As the Inquisitors eyes met his Mkoll could not help but give her one of his sarcastic smiles, after all he had never set foot on Terra, and if not for her he would never have sought to do so. The only world he ever really wanted to set foot on was Tanith once again, but the planet was gone, destroyed.

“Once we reach Holy Terra, we will be embarking on the traditional duty of the Ordo Hereticus. It will be my job to police the ranks of the Imperium itself and root out traitors, witches, heretics, mutants, and of course aid in the fight against xenos and daemons. I will be sending you on various assignments which will require a good degree of autonomy. Until then, take the little time left in our journey to Terra to enjoy yourselves. It is unlikely you will ever return to this part of the Universe again… Now, get back to your quarters”

As she stood up and stretched, her body glove fitting perfectly tight around her body, Mkoll could not help but admire it. Inquisitor, Carrigan might have been, but she was a very good looking fit one and Mkoll was not one to deny his sexual attraction to her.

As he watched her, knowing she knew of his interest, she reached into one of her pieces of wooden furniture, pulled open a drawer and removed four small beads, then tossed one to each of them. Catching it easily Mkoll glanced at it seeing it contained the seal of the Inquisition on one side, and Carrigan’s personal seal on the other.

“These are your badges. Do not lose them or I cannot be responsible for what might happen to you if you are captured. With this seal comes the full authority of the Inquisition. Abuse my power and I will execute you,”

Saying it and giving them a sheepish wink, which Mkoll having spent many days with her alone hunting mutants, knew was meant to relax the others as if her words were a joke. But in truth if such abuse were to happen she would not hesitate one second before killing the offender.

“Now get the frak out of my chambers!”

As the other three turned and left the Tanith scout remained behind until the rest had moved out of hearing.

“So when you’re not around who leads if a leader is needed?”

(Once answered and after any discussion we need to RP he will hand her a list of wanted items depending on character sheet)

“Also, if possible, I need a Bolter with an attached Targeter, four 30 round sickle clips of Stalker Silent and two 30 round sickle clips of Kraken Pattern Penetrators, this Autogun is too loud for what I do and what you want me to do.”

With his two concerns answered he nodded to her and made his way out to walk the halls of the black ship. His many years of having no home and always on a new battlefield with the 1st and Only the Sgt of Scouts was restless and eager to get off this thrice damned ship.

Everyone had heard the same rumors of these ships and the experiments and horrors attributed to them and for all his battle accrued knowledge and the time now spent onboard one Mkoll had to admit he still was very uncomfortable on it. As he walked the halls the intercom suddenly came to life with Carrigan’s voice loud.

“Everyone! Stay where you are and continue doing whatever you were doing! Nobody is to leave their current locations. Complete lockdown!

Piscivorus get to deck 29, NOW!"

The Autogun off his shoulder, safety off and pre prepped for firing the Tanith Sgt of Scouts headed fast for deck 29.............

The Cap’n once they had reached the ship had handed him over to the standing gunfighter, a kid really, named Asher. After intros were taken care of Fenris found himself being taken on a tour of the Rocinante. They had been by his room already with Fenris dropping off the small amount of gear he owned and the Kid was just about the show him finally the engine room when the Captain’s voice came bellowing over ship’s speakers.

"Asher! Git your kit, an' move like you're burning for atmo, son! Wolf, git on up to the mule, and fire 'er up. Sam might be in a fix, so we're goin' in hot! MOVE!"

Having seen the mule on the hanger deck Fenris without a word to Asher, who was already headed the other way, ran towards the hold. Within seconds of reaching it the vehicle was up and ready to roll as first Asher, loaded with weapons, then Wyatt arrived and climbed aboard.

“Where we headed Cap’n”

“To the bank, Fenris, an' don't be mindin' no speed limit neither, Asher, if the situation's humped be prepared t' do what's needed t' give us cover t' git Sam out. He's top priority, an' once we got 'im you folk better be ready t' skin out fast 'less I make the decision t' do otherwise. Now, I don't know what Sam's got 'imself into, an' I don't much care for collateral damage, but if'n it is necessary to get to Sam, you've my permission for it."

“Understood, Captain. I brought extras for the party. Just make sure you’re not in the same room when that thing goes off.”

Asher replied as Wolf moved them out and into the street the mule at full throttle though Fenris could make a guess as to what said extra’s were. And true to his thinking he too felt an extra gun being placed on him. A quick look showed the mechanic an Uzi machine pistol and a single mag beside him. Now along with his sawed off and pistol he had a third good weapon.

“If you and the Captain are going in alone, you may need the extra bullets.”

“Thanks, the more guns the better”

Pushing the speed pedal harder Fenris tried to squeeze out more speed as the bank, with every meter traveled, got closer....

Van in your new post you put in the convo between Kane and the Lt as though you heard my report, at least that is how I interpretated it.
If thats the way it was meant there is no way Blake knew what I said to the Lt as it was on his and mine's private channel. Nowhere in her post does it say she changed freq so she is still on the general unit channel.

If I have misinterpretated that part of your post disregard this Q/A post and my apologies.
