Maximus looking to Arien and the others could not help but laugh when he heard the chimney sitting creature’s reference to him.
“I wish to face Maximus the Mighty, whose blade can cut 100 demons in half with a single swing. Come; test your sword against me!”
Knowing the plan and not waiting for the Knight, Maximus wheeled his horse around, looking to Arien as he prepared to charge, sword of ‘Demon’ slaying to hand.
“So knight, do you want to live forever!”
A kick to the horses flanks and Maximus was on the charge......

Topic: a holiday gift
Subject: Good feelings
It gave me great pleasure Olan to be one of the last two Staff to sign it and make sure it reached Bromern from Texas as the final stop before you.
Both Mom and I loved the art work and got a good laugh at the way the monsters and 'you' were portrayed.
Also I noticed a few posts about not being able to sign the card. To everyone who feels sorta left out don't feel bad as due to time constrants and distances needed to be travaled it was decided to be just a Staff member thing.
Maybe next year we can try an Inn member card and start it maybe earlier in the year.

Maximus looking to Arien, once again leader of the group listened quietly as the Knight outlined his plan of action.
"It is clear that we must take the fight to them, but let us do what we can to minimize their advantages. We should approach them from different angles so as to give ourselves the best chance. If our mages can bring the flyer down, so much the better - that is an edge that we clearly do not want him to have. While we are at range, let us hit them with everything we have - magical and martial. Once we close to melee, we'll have to be more careful. Is there anything I have missed? A better approach?"
Maximus could tell by the tone of Arien’s voice that as normal he would be charging straight in and knew his place was at the Knights side. Having only his throwing knives as missile weapons his only option like that of Arien was to close into melee quickly.
Spurring his horse closer to Arien’s he made it clear without words that he would follow the Knight in charging the two enemies before them.

Excuse me if I seem out of date, but did we all make 7th LvL?? Ok my old character sheet is still 6th lvl so I guess if I made 7th I need a new one and if by the above can I now master my long sword skill?
Also I believe as a specialist I now get 2 attacks every round.

Maximus arrived at the stables the next morn to see most of his fellow adventures already there nodding to them in greeting he moved to accept the horse and potion from Dwan’s steward. Mounting he waited quietly for the signal to move out and was glad when it finally came. Without a word to the others he followed behind the new mage trying hard not to glare daggers into that ones back. The ex-Gladiators thoughts his own, as he rode within the group, this time he had no plans of making any lasting friends.
The first 3 days travel went by quickly, Maximus still quiet unless spoken too first, and the weather for all intents travelable. However the next two days were a total wash as the group was soaked from a continuous rainfall. It was the afternoon of that 5th day that they started to meet the first of the refugees.
Mostly women and children, a few older men, all coming from the south-east, the direction you taking. They have only meager possessions and their own wits left, upon sighting the party it was if a dam had opened as immediately they began to gather around asking for help, a tale whispered among them, told to Maximus and the rest.
The town of Hevlorn was attacked. Not by an army or a large grouping of humanoids, but by these two men whom appeared in the night. One was a tall, robust man with long red hair, fancy red armour and a halberd. He seems to command fire and lightning from his weapon and flew through the air. The other, was a beast like creature with dark skin and huge talons that could jump great distances and tear apart the people without effort.
The men in the town stood their ground so that the women and children could make an escape. They have been running ever since – the attack was last night. The people are mystified that the priests of the town did not come out to help them. There is a temple of Heironeous near the castle ruins where the priests pray to contain the spirit of evil within the ruins. The priests never even left their temple; they stayed indoors and hid while innocent people were killed.
Looking to Arien, once again leader of the group, he awaited quietly the knight’s orders, he did not have long to wait.
"Char," Arien asked, "will it benefit us to leave the path, and travel cross country? Or will we lose more time than we already would in dealing with the refuges?"
“Na’, t’wood be too much on da ‘orses an’ mules wit’ da mud n’ su’.” Char nodded at Arien’s armor as well. “An’ yer metal skin’d be a problem. Bes’ ya stay t’ da trail.”
Turning to the villagers the Ranger leaned slightly forward in his saddle so they could hear him better.
“’Ow far t’ da village?” Receiving his answer the woodsman looked back over to his friends. “I cou’ go an’ scou’ I’ ou’ firs’. Mee’ ya back on da trail a mile ‘er so ou’si’ da village.”
Arien: "I would like for us to reach this evil as soon as possible... we should not suffer these poor people to be stricken any more than we can help. Even so, all know that darkness lends aid to such wickedness, and I would have all in our favor as is possible. What say you all?"
The last he directed at the party in general.
Looking to the Knight Maximus nodded his head in acknowledgement ready to move out once more......

Ok Mamma Krim'Hilde just had surgery today to remove a bone spur from her heel and is for the most part bed ridden so I will be concentrating on her for the next few weeks and will be taking a short break from posting in Rocinante & Cerebral Paradox. As for CWWLLO depending on your reply to my last email AL I will get a short post into the game before taking said hiatus. I’m posting this here as both my DM’s are also here and to save having to write 3 posts .

P.S: Congrats on the dunking and I hope all will be well having been there and done that also by my parents at 'the age'

“We’re I to find it necessary to explain myself to the likes of you, Mr. Tallon, this would be an entirely different situation. Right now, I’m afraid that there’s another situation I must deal with. So I bid you good morning. I may, or may not, return to visit with you some more, Mr. Tallon. Rest assured, that someone will should I not.”
Ackerman had turned towards the door where one of his guards stood ready and waiting, but had paused as though struck by a thought.
“Oh, I wouldn’t rest too comfortably. Right now my men are dealing with your friends…all of them. You are soon to be an oddity within my facility, Mr. Tallon. A rare specimen: an edgerunner. Do enjoy your last moments.”
That said, Ackerman strode to the door which his bodyguard opened as he drew near. The corporate exec stepped through the doorway and was immediately flanked by guards as he disappeared from sight. The door closed leaving Croaker alone with the silent patients and the soft hum of the overhead lights keeping the beep of monitoring equipment company.
At first Croaker was glad of the company man’s exit, though knowing by Ackerman’s look at him that his time was short, yet still having bought himself more of it, then the a**h**es words sunk in..
“Right now my men are dealing with your friends…all of them.”
Oh ***k he had found Jaimy and MDK!!
Desperately he strained at his bonds to no avail he was strapped to the bed tightly and he had not the strength to break free. All Croaker could do for the moment was hope that Jaimy survived and was able to somehow get away, hopefully he would get the chance to get free and kill Ackerman if Ackerman succeeded in killing his lover.
A slow death it would not be, make no mistake, if Croaker had the chance he would make Ackerman’s pain last a very long time............

Maximus was mad! Very very mad! All he could see was the new mage in his grasp begging for his life, his damn bird familiar dead at his feet, and nothing else. However that singular image, locked in his brain, overrode the Gladiators sense of his surroundings, what happened next was almost as if scripted.
A Mage blinking, a Knight greased, a Gladiator’s forward movement unstopped. Dwarves and humans crashing together my oh my.
Maximus quickly coming to his feet again was still enraged, “Remove your spell or your face and your cackling bird shall pay the price, mageling” he shouts.
"Stop right there, you oaf," Arien bellowed, "Before anyone gets hurt! Don't be fool enough to think that Dwan will allow violence within his own hall!" Hoping that he had the big man's attention, Arien softened his tone. "Besides," he added with a smile, "it's always better to be the friend of the man who throws magical fire, is it not? Were it me in pink, you'd enjoy a good laugh, aye? So sit down, appreciate the joke, and pay our host the courtesy of your attention." The last was given in a tone that brooks no insolence.
‘Besides,” Kilgim says as he gets up himself, “You ain’t got any on you, laddie.”
Maximus looked down and saw that the dwarf clerics word were correct his armor no longer covered in pink sparkles almost as if the whole event never happened. But the proof that it had was evident as Terrin stood up rather unsteadily beard completely speckled with pink sparkles. Brushing himself off with as much dignity as he could muster he turned, leaving the room in the hurry.
“Caw, caw, never knew what hit him, caw”
“ENOUGH!” Dwan shouts as he smashed his hand down on his desk, “I understand the need to melt down some tin as much as anyone but we have serious business here. So unless I need to find another team, can we settle down and go conserve our energy of the enemy! Maximus! I expect you to stay awake when I summon you. Matthias! Gwanele! If you two could stop acting like elves, I would like to get on with this.”
Maximus was still mad make no mistake but now he was more embarrassed and humiliated then angry, Dwan was right he had been wrong to fall asleep. Slowly turning to the Dwarf leader he bowed as gracefully as his bulk allowed.
“You are correct Lord Dwan I should know better then to fall asleep, whatever the subject of discussion may be. To you and all gathered, but the mage and his bird, I apologize for doing just that and ask your forgiveness. Good luck to you, my friends on this mission.”
With his apology given and without another word said the big ex-gladiator turned and left the room...........
(OOC: Ok before anyone gets the wrong idea I as a player & Maximus am still in the game . But Maximus feels so humiliated by what happened that he’s too embarrassed to go on the mission. I’m sure every one of us has felt this way, except maybe Al lol.
Plus his anger at the mage who he believes as the cause of said embarrassment has planted the thought of ‘I’ll be damned if I work with him’ in his brain. There is a great opportunity here for some good role play as I am playing Maximus the same way I would feel, and in truth have felt, if something as embarrassing happened to me.)

It seemed peaceful, quiet and relaxing here next to miss Brigit, her full breasts resting on his chest. Wuh de ma Wolf though to himself, she was everything they said she was in bed and to believe in the end she had picked him over Sam was almost like a dream..........
Fenris awoke to find himself on his left side in the back of the mule drool mixed with hay having run down his cheek, something hard resting between his legs.
What the guay Fenris thought as he sat up, readjusting his crotch and spitting the crap in his mouth to the ground. He must have been more tired then he thought he was as he climbed out of the mule and headed for the house. Once inside he began looking for Sam or any of the others to see what the day would bring. Hopefully they would be getting off this Shee-niou planet soon like today he could finish the repairs on the mule in space. For some reason he just wanted to be gone from here, not remembering the dream, he readjusted once more wondering how he had become like that, down there....
