I almost missed the deadline. Wouldn't have mattered, huh?
Speaking of getting rid of quarterbacks... I wonder if the Panthers will take Kaepernick and Crabtree straight up for broken back Cam Newton.
Make that deal now. Please.

Thought so. Three arrows per round makes it a pretty obvious choice. Yes, a boulder is essentially double damage on a hit, seeing as Arien gets his strength bonus, but the chance for three shots (or four next round?) seems to say that he needs to use the bow.
Now, watch him hit on the first arrow only. Or miss on all, and make it a moot point.

Well, fudge. How many attacks per round do I get with that bow, oh great DM?
lol @ when things get hard. I know what's gonna happen... it starts with a T, next letter is P...

Topic: CWWLLO QnA Subject: rock it?
Well, a quick look says to me that while tossing a boulder would be a lot of fun, it's probably a tactically better option to pull the old longbow. Same base damage, but the bow is enchanted, has a vastly better range, and Arien can fire more than once per round.
Oh DM, live forever. Does Arien get his strength bonus to damage with the bow, or no?

Reduce is clever, I like that.
But truthfully, this really does scream "kill it with fire" to me.
Assuming we can avoid barbequed bear.

Stoneskin is pretty indispensable if you are a squishy mage.
No worried on the boulders. I'm just debating whether it's better to fire a bow or go all hulk smash here. Arien can obtain boulders, per the DM - no need to allocate mana to that.

We have spaceships?
I'm so confused...
Running past this thing seems like a poor idea. Hate to have an exit blocked this way. Range attacks are effective, but how many more tentacles will it grow?

So the answer to this one is to fight it from range, eh?
Just curious - are there any throwable boulders handy?

I'm not complaining, Roger. You couldn't have laid a better trap for Arien.
I was just saying I'd enjoy it, even if somebody (including Arien) dies. TPK right here, maybe not quite so fun.
But that's okay. Roll up new characters, and next time, we immolate the corpses of our former characters who are the new bait. It's all good.
Edit:
Hmmm... next post. "Arien drools while reconsidering his life decisions..."

I had a feeling that we were pretty darned tough. I mean, c'mon... Arien has the best AC you can have in 2e, at least in some situations... and in others, he's only one point off. Plenty of hitpoints, can deal stupid amounts of damage, stupid high chances to hit. He's truly a combat monster.
He lasted one round. Holy crap.
The rest of the team looks great on paper. Yet, we're all mostly down, or badly hurt... after one round. With the front door guard monster. At a trap we knew was a trap.
Ouch.

Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off Again Subject: catch!
Arien and Lun moved to tale part in an aerial rescue of the hunters, but the obvious trap revealed itself as the tentacles sprang to life and turned the poor victims into missiles.
The knight did not hesitate, did not think. With one motion, he sheathed his blade and dropped, hoping to intercede himself between a hunter and the ground. If successful, Arien intends to move the victim to the safety of the ground, then begin his own missile attacks against the tentacles - provided they do not push to melee. If they do, he will defend with sword and shield.
If not, Arien will attack at range... but the priority is trying to save a hunter.
