Topic: Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting Q&A Subject: sigh
Not even the first round of posting and I already have an issue. Riaucard has gone dark on me. My messages have been read, but not responded to.
I'm inclined to fry one clone, then grab a replacement player.

Topic: strange question Subject: huh?
I think that Alacrity answered pretty clearly for himself. He asked if the interview had to be live or if it could be done via email.
Takley isn't trying to start a religious debate, which we frown on here at the Inn. He's asking for research help in an assignment for a class. Totally different thing.
I have no problem whatsoever with this topic; it does not violate the TOS in any way.
If it takes a turn where we start to argue religion, my stance will change. I don't see that happening.

I have re-read it, myself. Really impressed with just how well that game went, how well it reads.
I'm hoping that chapter two lives up to it!

Topic: Zombies in Chicago Q&A Subject: yeah...
I'd like to see Max and Ted live along with Murph... be a nice core of the group.
But if it ends horribly, it ends horribly.
Also: Dangit! I wasn't going to get excited yet. I was going to get Paranoia stable before I started thining about ZiC. Grrrr....

Tiamat,
If the group managed to get you inside, you'll live. If you want the bounty hunter to continue, he can. If not, I can write him out.
Celeste, send me a character concept. Bsckground, etc, why he/she is in Chicago at the outbreak.

And here, I thought that you wanted Ted to continue?
Up to you. If you want to change characters, this would be the time.

Topic: Zombies in Chicago Q&A Subject: like a zombie, this game will return from the dead...
Just a heads up - Zombies in Chicago will, in fact, be returning in the near future.
I plan to close chapter one with a "silver screen" moment - in other words, I'll essentially write a narrative to close out the current situation.
We will then bump the clock forward a bit, and those characters who survived and/or have players who wish to continue, will be introduced in the updated scenario.
I loved this game, and placed it up there with the most fun I have ever run. I really appreciate all of the creativity that went into the original incarnation.
At this point, I know that Eol Fefalas, Grugg, and Tiamat5774 are all wholeheartedly in. I understand that PrincessAli is interested, but would like to pick up with a new character.
Zombie_shakespeare has regrettably declined to continue.
I do not know how Merideth or malek04 feel about it.
This means that I will have at least one, and potentially three to four, openings.
The new game will have a new thread and a new Q&A area... just wanted to make an "official" announcement.

Topic: Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting Q&A Subject: lasers
Nobody asked me about laser pistols, or why most of you have two laser barrels that match your security clearance. I suppose that it's because you all know Paranoia very well, and don't need to ask.
Just in case, however, you should know that laser pistol barrels act very much like an ammo supply. Each barrel is good for six presumably safe shots (assuming you have no amusing malfunctions). Barrels have six rings on them, each of which change color to indicate a use (in case your troubleshooter has trouble with simple memory tasks).
You may fire more than six shots with a given barrel, but note that every shot above six results in an ever-increasing chance of weapon malfunction.
Barrels coincide to the security clearance given to an ownr (you guys have red barrels). Reflec armor protects against lasers, and is designed to protect againt lasers of up to that color's security clearance (Yellow armor, for instance, protects against yellow, orange, and red lasers, but not green or blue).
You may use any barrel you come across, but of course doing so of a higher color than you have clearance is treason.
Have a nice day.

Topic: Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting Q&A Subject: cool!
Duly noted, Admiral. Not sure if Slipp will agree, though...
I have PMed our slow posting half to remind them to get going.
Going forward, here is the deal: I expect you to post at least once (if not twice) per week. More will be appreciated, but not required.
If you have any questions, I will never penalize you for asking them. If you are unsure about something, I will help as much as I can.
If you can't post, let me know. I may be inclined to overlook your slackerness if you have good reason (or at least the good manners to warn me of your absence).
If you go an entire week without posting or letting me know why, I will take one of two actions.
1. I will assume minimal actions on your part (you keep walking with the group, you mindlessly follow instructions).
2. I will assume that your character does nothing whatsoever. If you are in a firefight, you'll just stand there... too bad if you get shot. If you are in a negotiation, you will rudely ignore everyone... too bad if they take offense. If you are running for your life, you'll stop moving... too bad if you get run over/squashed/eaten.
Expect option two to be the one I use more often, since it amuses me to do so. I also reserve the right to use one more option in the event that you really slack off in your posting:
3. I will have your character take foolish risks, say stupid things, or follow insane actions - for the sole purpose of killing you in a painful, amusing fashion.
You have been warned!
Remember again that Paranoid is not about careful calculation and playing it safe. Paranoia is about wild plans and over the top drama. Amusing the GM may be rewarded. Boring the GM will be punished.
Have a nice day.

All right, now. Only half of you have posted. Don't make me wait.
Waiting = a bored GM.

Topic: Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting Q&A Subject: Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting Q&A
This will be the Q&A thread for Paranoia: Adventures in Clonesitting.
I have made the intro post for the game itself; feel free to beginposting immediately.
All of you should have your character sheets, as well as information on secret societies and/or mutation, as is applicable.
Nobody has sent me any questions about their characters - or much of anything else, for that matter, so I assume that you don't have any? If you do, now is the time to ask!

Meal-time! You are a brand-new Red troubleshooter team, identification number MAO-17859 Dot R-2. Just this morning-cycle you were called away from your positions - scrubbing the food vats, stamping paperwork in triplicate, repairing live wires, and similar fulfilling tasks - and told of your promotions from lowly Infared status. What a wonderful thing!
Now, after a busy morning-cycle of brain-conditioning and long lines, you find yourselves in a Red clearance cafeteria for lunch. What a place this is; thousands of smiling red level citizens, all happy and proud to serve the computer, just as you were reminded earlier today.
There are rows of monitors lining the celing, all showing the single all-seeing eye or some of your favorite sayings (such as "Mutants are nasty, kill one today!"). The six of you now sit together at a table under one of the monitors, with a chance to talk to each other for the first time over a plate of Faithful Joy, Loyal Reward, Bouncy Bubble Beverage to drink and a plate of Hot Fun for dessert.
You are also joined by another citizen, Dweebs-R-GRT, who can't find his mission group and has latched onto yours.
The table is only large enough for six clones, but Dweebs is trying to fit, anyway. This scrawny, pasty-skinned clone has made a pest of himself, asking question after question. Apparently, his assigned team ditched him for some reason, causing him to act like a lost puppy.
Suddenly, amidst the noise of the cafeteria, you hear a whisper. "Hey, troubleshooters! Yes, you, Team MAO-17859 Dot R-2! Down here! Yes, down here, under the table! Now!"

Topic: AMC's The Walking Dead Subject: my take?
With the strange, narrowed lens, the odd coloration, and the pans back to Shane's face... I took the "snarling zombie flashes" to be what was happening in Shane's mind as he transformed.
Now, please allow me to chime in on Lori.
I despise this character. The only reason for her continued survival is the baby that she carries, and thus, a chunk of the future of the now endangered human race. Otherwise, she could become a zombie buffet at any time and I would heartily cheer.
This woman does nothing but stupidly endanger herself and others time an time again. "Hey guys, Rick has been gone for at least thirty minutes. If you won't go after him, I will - and I'll needlessly destroy one of our vehicles in the process because I'm an empty-headed moron!"
Rick's description of the final Shane incident was poorly done and made him look much worse than it should have... but seriously, this is how Lori is going to react? So Rick wanted to kill him.
Shane murdered that boy, lied about it, and ensured that he and Rick could be alone - all for the purpose of murdering his best friend. This was no heat of the moment, sacrifice someone you barely know to ensure the survivial of yourself and others. This wasn't even the fight with the wrench (which should have reulted in Shane being left for the walkers, since he had shown his true colors). This was premeditated, calculated MURDER in his heart, and she's angry at Rick for doing the only thing that could have been done?
Was Rick supposed to ignore attempt after attempt on his life until Shane finally did manage to kill him?
Please tell me that Lori will die in childbirth. Please.

Character sheet links have been sent to each of you. Remember, I am running a tournament module - this is a canned adventure (unless I decide to modify it on a whim).
These are pregenreated characters. Enjoy.
A couple of notes: Amppe-R-AGE is actually female for our game.
If you hate something, have questions, or want to suggest a change to your character before we start, let me know (PM is best... secrets are best kept secret).

Topic: Friend Computer wants you! Subject: ding ding ding!
We have a full roster!
I will assign characters and PM you all shortly. I'll open a Q&A thread, and set up the actual game thread, as well.
Thanks for joinin, folks... I am excited.
Edit: characters assigned. I assigned characters based upon the ultra-fair "first come, first served" method... which actually worked out to give everyone their first posted choice. Tuned_Out was wise enough to allow Friend Computer to assign, which so happend to give him the only clone NOT asked for.
See the wisdom of Friend Computer in action?
