I have moved the game forward. As everyone is fond of Brutal I decide to keep him in the game.

BTW - what is an SSG and where does it fit into American Military ranks? I am not familiar with the term?

When you met up with Max, I assume that you will recognize him as part of the team as you did train together. Definitely Luke and Romo would know of him.

"SONOFABITCH!" Brutal yells, ""How often do we have to kill this!?"

Romo acted quickly in his orders, not wasting time waiting on the Captain.

“Hold fire!, hold fire!” He yelled to the others "“Move out of reach, don’t waste your ammo!”

Romo covered the rest of the group as each moved himself or herself out of the creatures reach, then turned to Captain Edintore.

“Captain we need to move out of this area now!, What are your orders sir!"

“Miss? Is it possible that creature’s are still coming from this rift as we stand here? If so, we need to kill the power as soon as we can. Any idea where we can find these generators that poor fellow was talking about?”

"The crypts below!" She shouted over the growling of the creature. "The stairs by the armour is the fastest way!"

Two large tentacles thrust into the room again, searching blindly for someone to grab. As they trash wildly, they break through mortar and blocks. The whole building structure shakes and rocks with the strength of the creature. Brutal was moving forward when the Sarge called halt. Pure training caused him to halt as a large block lands where he would have been.

(Yes, I decided to keep him alive)

"It is going to bring the roof down!" Greta yells and starts moving toward the stairwell.

Down Below

The two guards threw Max into a chair and both of them grabbed an arm each and pulled it back behind him,. The older German who questioned him before came forward, pushing with his foot a car battery with a pair of jumper cables, while carrying a bottle in his hands. He dumps the content of the bottle on Max -old smelly cooking oil.

"Now you will tell us what you know American" he says with badly accented English as he takes the cables and dramatically touches them together to create sparks.

Suddenly there was a crash from above, and more sounds like stones crashing on the roof above. Startled, the two guards relax there grip as they look up and away from the captive.

Scared people make mistakes Max Keller thought as he took what could be his last chance. Could be, but probably not.....

OOC: Max can easily break free of his restrainers and attack. Both guards have knives and sidearm in sheath and holster. The old torturer has a sidearm but is holding the jumper cables. you choose who to go for and how.

First off, I need to apologize for putting three prejudices on Grace's character sheet. She doesn't have three prejudices. It was a joke between father and daughter and I should have taken it off. I confess to my negligence and ask for forgiven oh great daughter of mine.

One other thing - you still have seven days to get to Osiris. I wouldn't worry too much about the party yet as lots will happen along the way.

Subject: The doctor chimes in

"Hey Stephanie would it be okay if I borrowed the X-ray machine?" Grace asked,

The doctor laughed, "My dear dear Grace, would it matter if I said no? You would just borrow it anyway if I know you and I do, so go ahead but please don't "enhance it" like last time. I almost neutered poor Ken unknowingly."

(Assuming a short smarmy answer from Grace)

"However, I think that the Doc is the best choice to accompany me into the party. No offense Tess, Grace,” Jason nodded to the pair, “but you two ladies wouldn’t blend in very well,”

"Thank you very much for the invitation Jason, it has been a long time since I had a reason to dress formally, but I would decline. I no longer have the heart or patience to deal with the aristocracy and I would be more dangerous there with my tongue than Ken would be with all his iron." The doctor said shaking her head.

Stephanie stood up and picked up the key that was found in the guest quarters. "I looked up the serial number of this key in the Ariel Hospital cortex database. I couldn't find much, even with my credentials which didn't surprise me, patient confidentiality and all that. But I did find one thing that is important. The key is not for organs, the serial is actually for maternity. Now when I examined her for TOX, tests showed she took Neurojenvuium, which made sense as she obviously worked the "young" side of her market."

(assuming Blank stares and a what is .....)

"It a youth drug. Keep the body from maturing. You can't take it long but you can look like a teenager for 20, maybe 25 years. Companions working that market usually charge a lot and get out fast so they take it for a short time. Thing is, you can't take the normal contraception drugs with NJM. You have to take the more modified versions which are hard to get outside core. Higgin's Moon as Grace mentioned, is about as far from the core as you can get."

(assuming some discussion, and Ken making a crude comment about "getting out fast")

The Doctor went on, "I have a feeling that our passenger was once pregnant, and someone wanted her to abort the child. She instead, had the baby removed and put in cyro-stasis until she was ready to have the child."

(assuming some shock and disbelief)

"Oh yes. It can be done and is done in the core hospitals, but you have to be very rich or very influential. But most important for us, with this key and a sample of Priscilla's DNA, someone could get that child and do whatever they wish. So I don't think we can send it to her by post. We could be figuratively speaking, carrying someone's baby here. If whomever was willing to kill a companion for this..." She left the thought hanging there for all to contemplate.

Jon have a d6 intelligence which is average. As to "cougartown" that depends on how you want to play it. The doc is hot for captain but Jon might be hot for her but scared to say anything, or be "credo" about dalliances with crew or he could be completely clueless. Remember with character switching, we have not really established a rapport yet.

A Guest list? Easy to find and it reads like a who's who of society, parliament and military - not to mention more than a few of the shady upper crust as well (Highly placed Tong). What were you looking for exactly because I don't have a list of names per say.

BTW - I am assuming that since it is a time deadline and you don't want to hard burn at max all the way, you are flying the most direct route. This will take you through highly populated fly zones. Nothing wrong with that but it will mean you will be seeing other ships passing by.

Maxs family has a long history of explosive knowledge; from his great-grandfather to his father they were all explosive experts from railroad days to coal mining.

Due to his prior knowledge of the subject matter, Keller found advancement in the Army to come quickly to him. He has participated in several insertion missions behind enemy lines; blowing up bridges, railroads, dams etc. He is fluent in German, speaking and reading; his family being of German descent having come over in the mid 1800s to work on the railroads.

While explosives are his thing, he is experienced in hand to hand combat and all manner of military firearms; his favorite the Thompson submachine gun. He is trained in covert operations; using his skills and fluency in the language to infiltrate enemy fortifications.

Subject: coffee is coffee

I don't play food as a checklist-you-are-in-danger-of-starving mode. Fresh food is very expensive but I will play this meal as a "use the last of the good stuff before it goes bad" kinda of meal. Mostly it is protein paste made to look like something edible. You wouldn't have fresh meat, that would be an extreme luxury (like we can have ground beef or get fuel).

Tea and Coffee are common. Good Tea is easier to find than good coffee. Sweeteners would be all artificial (Stevia) with sugar being rare.

Plot Points
As some are new, let me go over plot points again. You all start with 6 points. These points can be used in actions to add a die to help you succeed in an attempt to do something. Now I play PP as a d6 for 1 and d8 for 2, d10 for 3 etc. (game starts at d2 which I think is cheap)

So Jon wants to shoot bad guy who has the doctor hostage. He wants to be sure he hits so he adds a plot point. Than means will add a d6 to his skill+ability roll.

If you are wounded, you may use a plot point or two to reduce the damage. So you take 6 wound damage and ask to use a pp to reduce, I roll and get 4 so you only take 2.

You can also change your misses to hits or fails to success but that is more expensive. 1 pp per point to make your roll succeed.

You may also use pp to add or change the story. Like you need to have a contact in the town, spent 3 points and hey, Gorde from high school happens to be in the phone book.

Now you get plot points for playing your complications well.
I would say everyone has so far so everyone is now at 7 points.

Hope this helps.

Destiny Galley, Day One of Journey, 11:00 pm ST

As Jon was pulling out ingredients he heard someone enter the galley. He looked over to see Stephanie coming in with a smile on her face. "Great mind or fools?" She asked, "I was thinking the same thing. Mind if I make some sweet Boa alongside you?"

(Assuming no objection)

The two of you work together preparing the meal. The closeness of your bodies in the galley brings a welcome human element but also some repressed tension the Doctor. She looked at her Captain out of the corner of her eye and wished .... Well that wasn't going to happen. Silly for an old woman like herself to even fantasize about that! But she couldn't help her feelings for Jon. She fell in love with him on the day they met and she had been trying to deny it ever since.

Destiny Cargo Bay, Day One of Journey, 11:00 pm ST

Grace looked at the barrels in the cargo bay with an analytic mind. The barrel, and wide and it occurred to her as she calculated volume in her head that this party must have an awful lot of guests or a lot of heavy drinkers. She looked at the grain of the wood and the kegs trying to figure out if there was something off and it came to her as she pushed against one - and it moved slightly.

Not a lot, but a bit and that should have been impossible based on the volume, standard weight of a wine in a barrel and not to mention the barrel itself. She remember that Norm had his lifting rig bring it up for them, so no one had to touch the kegs.

She looked at the barrel with a renewed interest and noticed something else. She check another barrel and found the same thing - then another. Each other has a slightly depressed area on the side, at the middle, about the size of a man's hand. She soon found that each depressing seemed to be smooth but there was a VERY hidden catch on each one.

Grace pulled off her multi-band tool on her arm and set the EMF detector on, running it over the barrel. No electrical fields detected.

“Crew meeting in the galley, let hash out what’s been going on………. and bring an appetite. “ came the announcement over the ship PA. While she briefly considered pulling out the docter's xray equipment while everyone was busy, Grace decide it best to tell the crew what she has found.

Destiny Jason's Quarters, Day One of Journey, 11:00 pm ST

Jason showered and thought about the Feds and the inspection. He was sure that Sanders was playing a game with them. Not necessarily by choice but ... He couldn't quite put his finger on it. the inspection was a ruse, he would bet his last credit on that and come out a rich man. He wished that he knew what was going on and briefly though t of getting the crew together for a talk and sharing of ideas.

“Crew meeting in the galley, let hash out what’s been going on………. and bring an appetite. “

Well ...Great minds do think alike.

Max sat in on the stone floor of the prison cell he occupied and tried to breathe deep and regular. the Germans had beat him hard but he was still alive, and still thinking about a way out. He'd get out of here - he knew it.

It had all started well - the mission that is. But when the plane was attacked Max had been ready; his gear consisted of the usual stuff along with his explosive kit and his Thompson and as much ammo as he could carry. When the call to jump now had come he was up and out the door in no time. The jump however didn’t go so smoothly.

Not long after his chute opened he felt an impact and he started to plummet downward; looking up he saw that a body from the plane had crashed into his open chute. The falling body had continued on to its doom but in passing it ripped a gaping hole in his chute. Quickly he drew his knife and cut away the main chute and once clear he deployed his back up chute. When it opened he was perilously close to the tree line and he crashed down through the trees and along the way he struck his head on a large branch and was knocked out.

Coming too he felt someone moving him; he thought it must be his fellow rangers but they seemed to be a bit rough with him. As he came fully awake he heard them speaking German and knew he had been captured. By the time he was awake he had been stripped of all of his weapons and gear and his hands were tied behind his back. They questioned them but he only told them his name and rank in English; no sense in letting them know he understood everything they said.

After awhile more troops came, they must have been searching for more survivors of the crash. He was glad to see no other captives; that meant they would carry on with the mission. The German soldiers blindfolded him and hauled him into a truck and drove him someplace. Once he arrived they kept him blind until they had him inside a building in a cell where they did a proper interrogation of him.

A German sergeant took great care in his interrogation techniques; he managed to beat on Keller and most of the time kept him from passing out. In the end he learned nothing from him. they put him back into the cell to await further interrogation. But Max knew something else was wrong. Something had these guys scared. They were talking about experiments and monsters. This was supposed to be a rocket fuel site! What was going on?

But all he could do was wait. Scared people make mistakes, and he'd be waiting for any chance to pay back his capturers.

The door opened and two guards yelled at him to get up. he didn't move, letting them pick him up and drag him back. Let them think he was weaker than he was....

Subject: Hard to keep a good monster down

“You’re one lucky canary, mister, to run into us. We can give you some protection, if you can give us some answers. First of all, what was your job here?” The Captain says and the Sarge moves to translate for the german prisoner. The man is very agitated and nervous at first. He keeps tell you that there is great danger and that you must flee while you have the chance. But eventually you get this much from him.

His name is Drew Goldstein. He is an electrical engineer brought to the castle two weeks ago to help them with a power surge problem, or so he was told. He doesn't like the Nazis or want to work for them but they have his wife and daughter captive and one wrong move and it would mean Auschwitz for him and them. (A number tattoo on his arm confirms at least part of his story) At first he did what they said but he knew they were doing something very evil here. Something that required a lot of power and attempting to ... well he didn't know but he had heard Herr Doctor say something about opening a dimensional rift.

Last week, they has done an experiment outside and it went horribly wrong. A soldier was electrocuted but then, they found something living in his corpse. After that, things became very bad for Goldstein. He was forced to work on the generators to maximize power. They worked him day and night with little sleep and constant guard. But the guards talked of a creature growing. Civilians were taken for another experiment and then the soldiers started to become scared - there was talk of more monsters appearing. He heard Guards talking about something with no body that possessed men.

Herr Doctor and the Commander attempted the experiment again and all hell broke loose. There was a blue light and then creatures from nightmares poured out. Demons of darkness and fire. Goldstein ran blindly upstairs and hid upstairs in an office until a few moments ago when he decided to make a break for it and found you.

He has no idea where the Commander or Herr Doctor are but he knows that similar equipment is set up in the crypts below the castle. He also tells you that another American soldier was fought with the plane, and is being held prisoner in the castle, in the dungeons below.

Suddenly the scientist starts to cough and hack. He seems to have problems breathing. Doc moves to see what the problem is but suddenly the doctor breaks free and runs for the door. Brutal moves to intercept ..

When suddenly there is a crash and bang from the front of the castle as the doors burst open. A familiar tentacle swiftly reaches into the room and grabs Goldstein. He screams. The monster bellows a angry cry. It is the creature from the bridge, now trying to get into the castle but only able to reach an couple of arms in. The German man is pulled out screaming until a gut wrenching crunch and ripping of flesh and bone puts silence to his protests.

"SONOFABITCH!" Brutal yells, "How often do we have to kill this!?"
