I will pull from your actions but if you want something specific, feel free to ask. For example, you are wandering thorugh a field of vegetables. You want to know whether they are attended to or gone wild. You can ask for a Knowledge check on agriculture becuase you have ranks in general knowledge.

If you ever want a skill check, just put in in brackets.

I talk to Bill (Persuasion) about doing a small job for me. If he doesn't seem interested then I will ask him again (intimidation).

Almerin has an excellent point, in that as players we are not always going to think as our characters would, so if you have suggestions or thoughts, use the Q&A or PM. Just make sure to include me in the loop.

This is a non-issue and frankly I don't see the point. As I said before, I don't care about realism - this is a game.

So....

The sarge did not field strip the weapons. "he did a fast inventory in his head and started handing out the gear".

Dreen - destroying a piece of equipment behind enemy lines when you are limited is stupidity. Don't do that again.

Can we move on now?

July 14th 1943, 2 am to 7 am, Day One of Mission

What was left of the unit moved out of the area and headed south. The men took their positions and moved with as much speed and stealth as was possible in a heavily forested area. The full moon helped to illuminate the darkness but the trees and their leaves canopy cut off a lot of the light, leaving the team wandering around in the dark. It is also hard going as you are moving uphill alot.

An hour passes, then two. A pair of 109's fly overhead, very low to the ground. Could be the same ones that shot you down for all you know. You all duck for cover without an order. They fly low passes around the area for the next hour, slowing down your pace, but they don't open fire, nor launch flares so the possiblility remains that you may not have been spotted. The trees would make it hard in broad day light, let alone in the dark like this but daylight will be breaking soon.

Clements calls a halt to the march as you come over a ridge as the dawn sky begins to fill with morning light. Below stretchs a large valley and there is a field of cabbages, carrots and rutabaga all in early growing stages. Further away, about 200 yards, is a farmhouse. The house seems very quiet, and you can make out a driveway that must lead to a roadway. If you can find the road, chances are you can figure out where you are.

OOC: Figured you might want a date and time index.

South, towards the mountains in the distance that you recognize from your briefing. Even if you are to scrub the mission, south is the closest neutral border.

All the party moves to Kilgim as he begins to create a ring of protection, except Dapple who prefers the protection of the darkness. Flynn casts a spell of his own towards the puppet priests, creating a cloud of glittery dust around them. The spell is uneffective against the dead, as they can not be blinded, but the glitter sticks to the threads in the air. The pattern of control is complex, but now you can see the threads holding the body parts of the priests and hobgoblins.

There is a girlish scream of frustration and the hands come flying again, seeking to strike at Kilgim so that he cannot complete his spell. But the defense of Arien, Char and Maximus proves mighty indeed, especially now that the glitter reveals the true nature of the creatures. The threads cut but Char and Arien reform and reconnect quickly because they do not truly break. However, Maximus' vorpal blade does slice through the strands like a barber with a straight razor.

Soon body parts strewn the floor and Kilgim completes the spell. Hands with weapons within the circle stop moving and when the few remaining attack again, they pass through the shield but become inert and tumble to the ground.

"FINE!" The girl's voice screams in a tantrum, "BE THAT WAY!" Suddenly the priests and hobgoblins are pulled hard inmto the air above the party. Then they are released from the threads and the body parts fall upon you from the height of the ceiling. You all dive out of teh way or use shield to protect you from the body parts raining down on you. Arien holds his position to protect Kilgim and is slammed hard with a torso to the shoulder. Maximus deftly cuts another in half as it falls towards him.

The glitter remains so that you see threads are retreating from the room. You are blood spattered from the freshly dead hobgoblin parts. But the parts all seem very dead now.

OOC: Arien has a Minor wound.

In all, there were four other soldiers that made it out of the plane but their chutes wither never opened or were damaged by gun fire and they all met a terrible death when they hit the ground. Still, they were gone and besides collect dog tags, which the Captain did, there was nothing more to do for them. The equipment they carried was of no use to them anymore. You manage to collect the following in working order:

One Colt M1911A1
Two M1A1 Carbines w/ Folding Stock
One Thompson SMG
Two rifle pouches holding five magazines each (so ten in total)
Five colt handgun clips
Two 50 round drums for Thompson
Four fragmentation grenades
A compass
A musette bag
Six K-rations
Two Supplemental tie-on First Aid Kit

Chutes are cleared and a reasonable effort made to clear the area. You had landed a fair distance from the wreckage so with luck and a prayer, the krauts might not realize you are there.

Corban climb up a tree to recon the area as best he can. To the north the plane is burning down, the fuel for its fire probably consumed when all the charges they had brought blew up. Through the powerful scope on his rifle he surveyed the area. No one was there yet, but he thought he saw lights moving sporadically in the distance. Could be farmers, could be a patrol. To the east and west was trees, trees, and more trees. Great place to camp, lousy place to land but at least there was a lot of cover. The south was also forested but more uphill towards the mountains.

Work detail complete, and supplies are gathered and distributed among the men. All eyes are on the Sarge and the Captain. No matter what the decision, things were grim, and the only way to safety was directly towards the mission target anyway.
