Yes, I know what you meant. Trying to be funny. Failed miserably.

The skeletons in the closet look human. They are held together with wire and string so easy enough to grab a leg and go.

I do need to know who is carrying what and what you chose to take in the backpack.

Mice and cats don't really have a large bone. But if you want to swing a dead cat, feel free.

Yes you may plunder the skeletons for bones if you wish.

The decanters would probably make a better weapon.

There are 13 bottles of booze. You can't fit them all in a backpack.

With creative packing I would say you can store the left over food, two decanters, the small dropper and possible 3 books

“So, you still interested in that date?” Angela asked.

Badger smiles broadly, "Oh I likes you. You got cheek and don't fluster. I am a patient man though. But I'd never ask you to do something you didn't want, so consider that my interest is genuine and a promise I mean no harm. That be a lot more than I ever offered another crew."

Badger turned to the Captain, "We have a deal then. Be at Diviner's Gulch at 2 am. There'a a clearing at the bottom, we will meet you there. Keep the running lights to a min, them press dogs can sniff out a story and we don't want any spectators. Don't be late."

OOC: Diviner's Gulch is a valley off the main roads outside of Eavesdown. Good place to go if you don't want to be seen. Lots of rocks, trees and places to hide.

As with any online game, players post what they think is gonna happen and I will say what has really happened.

Which Portal did you go through. There are three? One to the "north", one to the "East" and one to the "west" in the library.

The problem with a gun range on a ship, soft rounds or not is the "accident" factor. All it would take is one person using the wrong rounds and you won't have time to apologize. The other thing to think of is the sound echoing throughout the closed space of a ship. I would say no to a gun range and I believe the captain has already spoke. You do have a weight and exercise room on the ship if you look at the map. If you are looking to test your new companions, you can always spar at martial arts or even do a team game and see how well they work together.

How much time? You do not know yet. Badger has said tonight but not when. If he is looking to sneak the girl out though, you can probably assume after midnight and somewhere isolated.

Wembley impulsively opens the closet door to reveal before him six skeletons. He shrinks back slightly, in reaction to them but no attack comes. He then realizes these are all hung on hangers attached to a wooden dowel across the top of the closet. Six skeletons – just hanging there.

There is nothing else in the closet.

Jon and Stephanie are very different in age and it was part of the underlying issue in the game before, that Stephanie didn't want to get involved with a younger man but there was obviously an attraction between the two. Once Destiny was assumed destroy and S and J were locked in a shuttle for awhile, the romance blossomed ...so to speak.

Persephone, Eavesdown Docks, On Board Destiny, 6:15 pm ST

Catie Yueshi stood on the tarmac of the Eavesdown Ship Port and looked at the message that Stephanie had sent her. Look for the black ship that looks like it comes out of a holo-movie. Well there was only only ship in the port that was a glossy black and looked completely different from all the others. In fact, although Catie knew very little about freighters and ships, she had to admit that this Destiny was rather ... sexy in its own way.

I understand what you are going through and I wouldn’t suggest this if it was only for myself. But you need a home that will keep moving and we need someone who understands genetics and prosthetics – certainly more so than I do and you are one of the best. It is almost like it was Destiny that you and I have a mutual need and since it is the name of the ship – well you believe it that sort of things more than I do.

I arranged a ticket and some money to get you here – I still have some friends and a more than a few favours owed. Come see me at Eavesdown Docks on Persephone. I think it will do a world of good.

She approached the ship and the gangplank which was down at the moment. There, waiting her arrival was a smiling Stephanie. She looked better than the last time Catie had seen her, more joy in her eyes and face. But there was a touch of concern and fear still - like the weight of the world still rested on her shoulders.

Despite Wembley’s assertion to try another door and the warrior’s of the group reluctance to face an undead foes without adequate armour – The diminutive clerics of the party feel an obligation to eliminate the forces of darkness from this lair – no matter how small.

As the holy men bring forth the power of their prayer to combine their energy, the host from beyond the grave and the other side of the door is fervourously clawing and scratching at the door. The unearthly moaning is loud and speaks of a need none too natural.

The divine chant is answered and Gamard takes a position before the door as Wembley chatters on about rat fighting in Bayris. The door is opened and the undead rodents move slowly towards the party. Gamard commands them to stop in the name of the divine, and a wave of holy energy seems to pass from Dudley and him towards the mice. They do not turn away though, but spasm and stop moving – their weak necromantic energy unable to withstand the divine. Even though there must be at least 60-70 of them, they give up the ghost of their life and fall. Only the cat remains, still moving towards you in a slow gait, until Mal steps forward and beheads the poor creature with his sabre. The enemy is vanquished.

After a breath or two, you hear the steady steps of the cleaning golem coming towards you. It begins to use its cleaning powers to remove the carcasses of the now very dead animals.

Within the room, the desk contains no papers of a personal nature, and is intended for the use of visitors. There are supplies of paper, ink, and pens, but no notes among the clutter. It has been searched by someone recently. The bookcases are full of light reading material on the following: the history of the Sendria Civil Wars, the folklore of pixies, elves, gremlins, fairies, and other mythical creatures; and the conjuration of demons, spirits, and other powers.

Your choices are now only the portals, or examine the closet that still remains unchecked.

I have added to the character roster, Catie, which is Reralae's for the Destiny. This is a later add as I did offer her a position and then Celeste returned.

I will be setting her up as arriving to the ship as you guys are at Badger's. She will meet Stephanie and Grace but Stephanie is inviting her to join the crew. I am sure it will be an interesting conversation between her and the captain.

The idea here is to have a person to assist with Both JC's arm and Angela's mind without it being the NPC all the time. Also sets up a possible "Face" character.

Assets:
- Cortex Spectre - Minor - After the war, Catie called in a number of favours to try to bury her past, and avoid being referred to similar research in the future. One of these favours resulted in her name change (Catie isn't her original name). However, without a number of underworld connections to finish the job, she's not as untraceable as she might like.
- Math Wiz - Minor - Perhaps due to her Asian heritage, or just innate talent and affinity for data, she doesn't often require a calculator.
- Strong Eyesight - Minor - Catie's eyesight is keener than most. A bespectacled researcher, she is not.
- Total Recall - Major - It sounds like she's just saying nonsense when she records memories, but with her analytical mind and data affinity, it's an encryption to compress the information and make them easier to remember.

Complications:
- Bleeder - Major - Needing medical assistance often when she was younger made for a good incentive to get into science and medicine, if for nothing else than to provide some independence. At the very least, she'd be more able to handle her own cuts/scrapes and nose bleeds then.
- Lightweight - Minor - There's a very good reason why she abstains from alcohol...
- Superstitious - Minor - She may be a scientist, but because she cannot prove OR disprove it, she considers that there may be other things at play beyond physics. Supernatural energy, its flow and collection, are one of the things she is fascinated (read: superstitious) about. Don't ask her how to harness, measure, or perceive it, but she'll keep experimenting until she has something to prove it.
- Traumatic Flashes - Minor - She may never have witnessed firsthand what her work resulted in, but having seen recordings, and with her mind being strong enough to imagine what wasn't recorded, she knows what probably happened. After that, she can no longer un-know, and can't get the images out of her mind easily.

Equipment:

Background:
From a young age, Catie was a prodigy, with a very strong mind, and nimble body. Early on, she took to sports that utilized her nimble form, primarily in the form of gymnastics, but also expanded her hobbies to include dancing, without any particular focus in terms of studies. However, during a routine exercise, there was an accident involving equipment not properly set up. Catie would not stop bleeding, and had to be taken to the hospital. That was when she found out about her physical condition. Her body was nimble, and her mind sharp, but she was frail, moreso than others she knew.

With her condition threatening her independence, Catie shifted her focus. She was not about to allow her body to hold her back. Gymnastics was still a hobby, and helped keep her body in shape as she worked her mind, but she no longer pursued a career in that path. Catie wanted to research why her body was the way it was. What could be done for people like her, or with other ailments? She decided she would be a medical researcher.

Unfortunately, it wasn't as good of an occupation as she had hoped. War brings out the best and the worst, and in Catie's case, applied knowledge became terrible power. Instead of her research into genetics and brain mapping leading to quality of life improvements in prosthetics and hereditary disease, it went into biological warfare, cybernetic enhanced soldiers... there was no way she could've known all of what it went to. Yet, she knew, she couldn't continue working where she was. The Alliance was not so good as they made themselves out to be. The final straw was their blaming her for when disaster struck their 'elite' squadron of cybernetic soldiers. Through acquired recordings, she saw for herself what they did, and even though she knew the cybernetic overload was not her fault, what they did was indirectly her fault.

So, she left. Seeking to bury her past, she called in favours to the few people she knew she could trust, in an attempt to keep her away from that path. Catie would forge a new life, somehow. It was around that time when she picked up origami as a hobby, and started on the paper cranes.

It was difficult at first, going from being a well-to-do researcher and becoming someone not known. Thankfully, her strong memory provided her with more than just retention of her medical skills; it still included other, more generic knowledge. Catie made ends meet by becoming a wandering part timer, never staying in one place too long. Sometimes she was a nurse, other times she was a waitress or chef, or even a dancer. Yet, she always moved after a while, for fear of her old identity being revealed, somehow.

For what grace she possessed, there were times when Catie was advised to change occupations, some more blunt than others. Joining the Companion guild did have some benefits, she had noted, but at the same time, it was entirely possible that it would provide an easy trace to her.

It was during her wandering that she encountered Stephanie. Or rather, that Stephanie encountered her. It was during a time when she was working as a chef, a simple wound, but because the cut was deep and to her dominant hand, she couldn't easily treat it herself. Catie nearly ran into Stephanie in her haste to get to a clinic. With Stephanie's aid, the bleeding was stopped in time without her needing to get to a clinic.

It wasn't a fast friendship, but meeting the way they did, Catie felt indebted to Stephanie, and both having been through medical studies, there was a common ground between them. Eventually, she came to trust Stephanie, and was able to experience some relief in sharing some of her past with her.

That was a while ago, but being contacted by Stephanie, and being in the region, she now faces her newest job. To be part of the Destiny's crew and to try to help some of their newer members, with their unique circumstances.

“You ever seen a boat like Destiny?...... I’d guess not,…and neither have the competition. They don’t know what we can do…and that’ll give us…and you… the advantage. That advantage is worth…… 50 a head, cuz we get there before most know we left. We’d give a savvy business man like you an Ace in the hole.” Jon said hotly.

"Oh! You are businessman then?" Badger eyes glowed with impatience and anger, "From what I hear your boat been sitting in a junk heap for near a year! But now it's faster than a courier class? I would love to meet your mechanic 'cause she must be the best this side of the Kessel Run. How 'bout we make it 15 and you can ...."

“Well, I think we’ve heard enough,” Angela spoke coolly and quietly, but just enough to be heard over the discussion, “but our host is clearly dealing with some urgency and we are between jobs at the moment, “ she rose from the table and sauntered to stand between Badger and Jon, but closer to Badger.

“You, dear sir,” she turned to Badger with a slight bow of the head and a touch of the smile she’d shared before,” You want us to take this job….I’d even say you need us to take the job because time is tight and we’re the fastest in the ‘Verse, so you’ve put out a fine feast and did everything you could to make us like you.” She leaned in confidentially and smoothed Badger’s lapel “It worked, by the way. I like you…a lot,” she whispered.

“Whereas, us?” Angela straightened to look at Jon and Tess, but mostly at the Captain. “We have a lean operation that moves fast, and that’s gotta mean something. We are also looking for work, and buildin’ a name for ourselves, so being a business partner of someone 'in the community' has also got to be worth something.”

She stepped back a bit so that she was no longer between Badger and Jon, and gestured with her hands that they should look at each other. “Now, we have an offer of 20 credits a day and a counter-offer of 50. I’m thinking there’s comfortable ground somewhere in the middle, and the sooner we find it, the sooner we can get This princess to where she needs to be. I’ll let you two figure that out….there are sandwiches left and I am hungry.”

With that, Angela went back to the table and selected another sandwich, smiling at it as if it was the best thing she’d ever seen.

Badger smiles broadly, "Oi! I sees what you are doing! Get me going there you did! I can admire that. Make me think you a fool then bring your own Ace in - ah, don't bother denying it." He moves to be beside Angela, stepping by the Captain to do so, "You's the brains here aren't you? Fine. I gives you 35 a head and I'll make sure the cruise liner fills your fuel tanks after the drop. But ..." He leans in slightly, "When you come back - You have dinner with me - just the two of us and no business. Agreed?"

Persephone, Eavesdown Docks, Badger’s Office, 6:20 pm ST

“Lilianna Fairchild? The Princess?" Jon asked incredulously.

“They can afford a private luxury transport,………,” he was muttering, “why would she be slipping in through the back on freighter? ……. Mind you we are impressed to have her as the fare, but she’ll mean more security, …….better food,…….Oh God we got so much cleaning to do……”

“Yer darn right we do. We’ll be needin’ a little time to fix up our boat proper for such a fancy lady to come onboard. We want to make sure we make the right impression fer our employer here,” Tess gestured to Badger with the remains of her sandwich, took another bite, and continued to address Jon in a voice that all the room could hear.

“Trouble is that we’re gonna hafta pull off a jing tian dwohn di miracle. Destiny ain’t no passenger ship. Sure, we got two rooms with two beds in ‘em. But that still means we’re movin’ some crew around, unless those two fellas there are a lot cozier with one another than they’re lettin’ on,” she smiled and nodded at the two behind Badger, “plus we’re gonna need to refigure our air scrubbers fer another five warm bodies, stock up on foodstuffs, refuel, and do a good scour of everything so our fine lady will feel right at home. Plus our mechanic’ll wanna do a once over before running at such hot speeds. All before an early take off tomorrow AM so we can get our passenger there on time to her big day. I dunno Capt’n. Sounds like we’re gonna hafta be workin’ double time throughout the night, and then some afterwards to keep our guest happy. Plus we’re gonna be needin’ to hit the market first thing before we high tail it outta here. We’re fast, Capt’n, but do ya’ll think yah can be convincing the crew to be that fast?”

Badger looked on as Tess and Jon went on with a face that spoke of bemusement. He even chuckled when Tess mentioned the scrubbers and foodstuff. “I’m sorry but you all seem to be working for a misconception. Now if anyone knew who the Princess was, i’d guess one of the ladies, not you captain. I collect trading card myself but whatever oils your chain. I’m asking you to transport Ms Fairchild her two lackeys and these two. I ain’t asking you to throw them a gorram teaparty! You don’t need special foods or rations or clean sheet or pretty dollies on the seats. She likes the charity work on the rim, so she can handle roughing it for awhile. In fact, her daddy would be mighty appreciative of her living like the other half because as I understand it, she’s been a bit of a prat about the wedding.” Badger sighed dramatically, “You have these two for extra security. Introduce yourself boys.”

The youngest of the two brothers steps forward and offers his hand to the captain, “I’m Rick Simon and that there is my brother AJ. Don’t you be fussing Captain, we can handle things as they come.” The brother offers a winning smile and a handshake but doesn’t comment further. “we can bunk together or swing on hammocks in the bay if necessary.”

Badger clears his throat noisily, “Right. The drop is late tonight, not tomorrow am. The idea here is to avoid the press getting wind of The Princess leaving, so her father wants her traveling in-cog-neat-toes. No one would suspect a high flaunting princess on a gar.. ship like yours. Get the picture?”

(assuming some comments)

“Listen. You can’t handle the job or your ship is too delicate for five passengers then fine. There an Arrowhead courier in port, I can use them. Don’t want to ‘cause the captain is a wáng bā dàn and I wanted to give you a chance to make a name. Get established, even hobnob with some bigwigs that could make your business. Kinda guy I am, see? But you can walk away, Guǎi mǎ jiǎo!, if you’d like and I will let my people know that you are not quite in my league for jobs. Understand?”
