Topic: Destiny's Flight - A Serenity RPG Subject: CWWLLO
"Now, you boys never actually answered my second question. I wasn't asking how sure you are - I know for a fact you're certain enough to take major risks, doing what you have done on your own. I was asking about your contingency. So far you're clear, if it's there you're taking it back, but if it's not there, then what will you do? You may not be asking us to get involved, but like it or not we're all involved with what others do at this point. Might as well take the opportunity to build a plan."
AJ cleared his throat, “We know it is there.”
Rick piped in, “We don’t really do contingency plans in our family. We sorta let the contingency plan do us if you know what I mean.”
AJ repeated himself, “We know it is there. Dad ..”
“I think she gets the point AJ!” Rick interrupted, “But never hurts to discuss another angle right?”
"Well, if you'd like to talk to each other first, you can." Catie stands up, "I actually need to ask Asante some questions as well."

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: thank you
Just a quick note, if Wyatt is pulling into the cargo bay, he would see Wolf and Hudson there. Vasquez will stay at the front of the ship to do clean up on the remaining mercs, and not join you.
As well, everyone with a comm would get Asher's message that Ma and he were safe.
I neglected to put into my post that Willow and Sifu are also receiving the messages from the comms as well. Since it is a "trust no one" situation, I assumes earpieces so others don;t hear them.
Excellent posts everyone. I will endeavour to respond in kind.

I like the Noir Camelot idea as it lends itself to a "watchmen" and "v for vendetta" style adventure.

Topic: The Gobber King Subject: Ninja down,
Moving towards the sound of the disturbers, Wembley padded silently. His staff-sling was in his right hand, his left hand free to work the subtle gestures of a spell if needed. As he crept towards the sound, he tried to keep to the shadows. Like his kin, Wembley also wondered what had become of the keeper of the cellar.
The flickering candle effect of the lights in the room only helped the Cidal hide from sight and the stone steps of the cellar had no boards to creak or bend to announce his presence. As he moved up to the next room, he heard the harsh sounding voices above and the smashing of bottles.
Once close enough, Wembley saw that there were 4 creatures in the room. All of them were lizard-humanoids with no armour and crude club like weapons. Although he never seen them before, Wembley had heard of these beings – these Lizard men. They were called ...Slackers? Slappers? Slithers? Slaa’kar! Yes that was it. Slaa’kar. They were a long way from home and one of them was extremely pissed. It was breaking bottle and shelves in a tantrum like anger and guttural calling out as if challenging the owner of this establishment to face him. As Wembley got a better view of the room, among the ruins of the booze and racks was the broken and beaten body of the man in black who had jumped you before but saved then bottle.

Topic: Destiny's Flight - A Serenity RPG Subject: take a break, reconvene
Looking back over the gathering Jon continued. “Ok, boys you just hang loose. ….Asante, I’m not sure what to do with you. ….. You are just bit too insistent that you are the pivot here…I’m hav’n a hard time believ’n ex-Independence soldiers would put innocents at risk in kidnapping scheme. They’d know how much folk admire Lillianna for her and her mother‘s work out here and they’d have all sides hunting them down..whether she got hurt or not. …Soldiers on both sides had issues with falty weapons so that storey just don’t ring true. It was more likely low level employees cutting corners and taking bribes that led to them poorly made weapons. In the end though it was Steele that looked bad and most likely why he has lawyers up the yingyang, his name was on them weapons, not theirs. But all in all he could have done the right thing and set up funds to help them families that lost kin. So now I don’t care about that land or what’s under it. I don’t care about Steele’s past sins, they’ll catch him someday. “ Jon glanced over at the brother. “A personal score in more easily settled.”
Jon walked around the table.....”We are going to deliver Miss Lillianna safe and sound, but after that we’re available for other services, like ….well we’ll talk more in an hour…..JC why don’t you take Asante back to the gym…..Doctor let us know when Seth can contribute.”
Stephanie nodded, “He will be able to talk in an hour, he just may be a little happier than you’d expect.”
Asante laughs and rolls her eyes, “Such naivety for a Captain. Well I will not argue with you Jon while your head is in the sand but when the time comes, you will know how to find me, and if you can’t find me then just whistle, you do know how to whistle don’t you?.” She looks over at JC and smiles, “Shall we go back to the gym then?”
(Feel free to throw in anything here Tann)
Angela came back into the galley swiftly with a small round device in her hand. “Got it!” She said bringing it to Jon. It was red and white with a black circular catch on it. Other than that, there was no way to determine there was anything about it that was transmitting.
Lilianna turned to Catie, “My offer still stands. Help me get out of the marriage and get Daniel out of harm’s way and I will give you the necklace. I don’t care if live on some backwater planet, I just want to be with the man I love.”
Grace when to her room beneath the engines and sat down in the beat up but oh so comfy chair she had and activated the black box connection to the cortex. She looked at the time on her multiband, made a quick calculation in her mind based on her favourite algorithm and typed in her 108 pin password to access her system. She then turned on her location scrambler and the back up scrambler and the military grade signal trace filtration system that she liberated from a defunct Longbow class on Beylix. Satisfied, she started pulling data from the cortex. Plans to the Cruise liner were easy – they had then available for passengers as marketing materials.
As to Asante Okoro – according to records she did fight with the independence side. but her division is listed as 101st. Grace had come across the 101st reference before – it usually mean the dark side of the war, assassination and black ops – the stuff no one wanted to admit but both side did. She went very quiet after the war and then started working for....
On the Bridge, Tess activated the sensors and brought the power levels up on the proximity detector. Nothing came up as a ship or even a trace of one. Tess worked the communications to find the frequency of the transmitter but could not find anything. The broad band spectrum of the ship’s communication array was just not made to find microwave transmissions – which made Tess think a bit. She pressed the communicator link to Grace’s room. “Grace? You there?”
(Assuming a yes.)
“I can’t find Go Sa with microwaves. That sounds really high techy for a bunch of old boys with a grudge. I’m being to think maybe some real money with some real R&D – like Blue Sun.”
Grace smiled looking at the screen before her, “Good guess there.” She replied as her eyes looked again at Asante Okono – Damage Control Specialist, Freelance flashing on her screen. The defence net on her computer detected a trace being attempted on her search but grace diverted it to the Alliance Sanitation mainframe for fun. She’d ended her search and erased her presence from the records.
One hour later, everyone is back in the galley. Lilianna is looking scared and annoyed at the same time. Asante seems oddly calm and Seth sits with a goofy smile on his face as he slowly starts to flex his arms and hands again. “How did you do that?” he asks Angela amazed, “You moved so fast and next thing I know, I was flat on the floor. Never saw it coming.”
OOC: Catie can converse with Lilianna and the Brothers if she’d like. Stephanie and Jon might share some thoughts and idea. Anyone want any NPC input, just PM me.

Topic: The Gobber King Subject: Booze breaking
Back in the entrance hall again, the party quickly decided to take the same southern door out to see if they end up in the same wine cellar as before. They spend some time gathering materials to make maps and notes before once more entering the portal.
You find yourself in the wine cellar once more but it is not as you left it. The room has been completely ransacked. The bottles are shattered and the racks have been smashed. Someone or something has completely destroyed the room. It stinks of mead but there is another strong smell in here – like a swamp or rotting vegetation.
Up the stairwell directly across from the portal, you can hear the sound of grunts, guttural voices and bottles smashing. Whatever destroyed this room is up thee, smashing up the next room.
“Not the booze!” Ivan says ruefully.”Like dudes, what did the booze do to you?”

Topic: Make an Evil Core Class! Subject: Old guy talking
I have never seen the point in playing evil characters. I have, as a DM, had evil parties before and without an exception, all of them have self destructed early in the game. They start killing each other off or won't work as a team and next thing you know - they are dead and blaming me.

Bought it. I figure I have paid 16 for modules before and it came with dice. How can you go wrong?
Blue dice. With pre-coloured numbers so you didn't have to buy a crayon either.

Topic: Destiny Flight - QnA Subject: Blueprints - crudely drawn of course
Detailws to follow but the blueprints to the Cruise Liner called "Rim's Dream"
RIM’S DREAM
Engine Room: Located at the bottom of the ship, the engine room is under the command of the Chief Engineer. This area is restricted.
DECK 1: CREW QUARTERS
Crew’s Dorms: The majority of the crew of Rim’s Dream lives on this deck in dorm rooms. The crew’s mess hall and a crew “pub” are located on this deck, as well as a gym and a movie theater. The officers have their own wardrooms on this level. These rooms are quite elegant, as the officers often entertain favored guests among the passengers. Passengers are permitted on this deck, but only if they have an invitation from one of the officers or if they’re escorted by someone on the crew.
DECK 2: MAIN FLOOR
Verbena Restaurant: The largest restaurant aboard ship features elegant fine dining with white tablecloths, crystal, silver, and wait staff in fancy dress. Reserved seating. Tables are assigned when guests board the ship.
Verbena Club: Private bar, members only. Dark wood and low light. Cigars and brandy.
Lucky Lady Casino: The casino is huge, located in the center of the ship, for this is one of the main attractions. To reach the Verbena restaurant, passengers are required to walk through the casino (and thus be tempted to drop some cash). The casino operates twenty-four hours a day and features faro, blackjack, poker, slot machines, pachinko, and mahjong. Rooms for private, high-stakes games are available to high rollers. Security is tight aboard ship and tighter in the casino. Cameras keep watch on players as well as the dealers. No money changes hands in the casino. Players gamble for credits that are exchanged for cash at the Purser’s Office. A tab is extended to those who run a bit short. Losers are not permitted to leave the ship until their gambling debts are paid.
Pioneer Pub: One of the most popular bars on board, it’s meant to resemble a pub on one of the frontier planets. It features cedar plank wood walls, polished bar, and leather cushioned bar stools, with a large mirror behind the bar. Anyone who’s ever been in a real frontier bar would find this pretty darn amusin’.
Grand Lobby: Stunning area where passengers are welcomed aboard. Decorated in gold and red velvet, with sweeping staircases leading to the mezzanine on Deck 3 and a domed ceiling six stories above the floor, the lobby is an impressive sight. Passengers can find room assignments here, book tours, and request information at the reception desk.
Purser’s Office: Located behind the reception desk. The Purser is in charge of all money matters on board ship, including credit transfers. A vault contains large amounts of standard Alliance-issued paper notes. Just how large is a well-guarded secret.
Infirmary: Medical facility staffed by a doctor and two nurses. Four hospital beds. Small operating theater, for use only in case of emergency. Extremely ill patients are transported to the nearest Alliance hospital.
Docking: The docking areas can handle up to four yachts, as well as the ship’s lifeboats that double as shuttles. They don’t handle private shuttles due to security. Once docked, an airlock provides safe passage from the docked vessel to the cruise liner. Security personnel are on hand to check for weapons using an electronic weapons sweep.
The Bijou: Theater featuring live performances at night. High-kicking show girls in feathers and not much else.
Dance Hall: For those who like their dancing a bit more lively than quadrilles in the Grand Ballroom, the Dance Hall features a live band nightly. Popular with the young people.
DECK 3: LOUNGES, FINE DINING, AND SHOPS
Lilac Dining Room: Smaller and more elegant than Verbena. Tables are assigned when passengers board. Only those with penthouse staterooms are permitted to dine here.
Chart Room: Elegant bar that plays Chinese classical music. Walls are decorated with navigational charts.
Champagne Bar: Champagne and champagne cocktails are the only drinks served. Small, dark, romantic.
Grand Lobby Mezzanine: Overlooks the Grand Lobby below. Sweeping staircase leads down to Deck 2. Shops offering designer clothes for men and women, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, and sundries.
The Bijou: Balcony seating for the theater.
Library Bar: Walls are shelves lined with books. Leather chairs and couches. A cozy, quiet place for a drink.
DECKS 4-5: ECONOMY STATEROOMS
Rooms on these levels are small with two beds that can be separated or combined into one. Small toilet with tiny shower. Small closet and chest of drawers. Porthole looks out into the black. Early morning maid service.
DECKS 6-8: MID LEVEL STATEROOMS
These rooms are larger and have a picture window with a stunning view. Couch and coffee table. Two beds that can be separated or combined into one. Larger closet, nicer bathroom. Morning maid service.
DECKS 9-10: LILAC STATEROOMS
Ornate rooms with small living area, separate bedroom. Includes access to Lilac Dining Room. Afternoon maid service and specialty services available when scheduled in advance.
DECK 11: PENTHOUSE SUITE
The Suite is the size of a small estate and has an entry hall, living room, dining area, and separate bedrooms. Comes with butler and access to Lilac Dining Room.
DECK 12: LIDO
This deck’s main attraction is an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard, and walking track.
Greenleaf Cafeteria: Open twenty-fours a day with food ranging from hot dogs to Peking duck. Dessert buffet at midnight.
Osiris Spa: Relax and enjoy a few hours of pampering. Mud baths, herbal wraps, massages, whirlpools, and steam rooms.
Grand Ballroom: Ballroom is a large room, beautifully decorated with living palm trees and exotic flowers. Tables and chairs surround a dance floor in the center.
Lookout Lounge: Connected to the Grand Ball, separated by the bar area, the lounge at the prow beneath the bridge. Large panoramic windows provide a breathtaking view of the heavens.
Bridge: Located at the top of the ship at its prow, the Bridge has state-of-the art navigational equipment. The First Officer is in charge of navigation and the Bridge. The captain will be on the Bridge during tricky maneuvers or emergencies. The Chief Radio Officer is in charge of communications.
The Bridge area is secured. Door is locked and only those officers and crew with special keycards can enter.
