Hornsilver Mine, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 11:15 pm Planet Time

Sam steps out first followed by Wyatt and Willow. The area in front of the shaft continues south onward for about 20 feet and the ends with a smaller passageway branching off to the west. Wyatt and Sam take the corner cautiously, each moving to cover the other as the peer around the corner. The drift continues to the west but slopes down and to the north before straightening due east. There are no lights in the shaft after this point, it is pure black.

As the three ponder whether it is worth stumbling in the dark or using the torches, the sound of timbers creaking and groaning comes from down the drift. Dust falls from above you and you are reminded of Cullen's warning that this level is unstable. but the only way to find the cause of this mess you are in is at the end of that drift.

Frisco, Day Nine 11:10 pm Planet Time

"Toss your pistol now and I’ll see if I can get someone to fetch Doc, you’re gonna stay in a cell til Doc can gets here.……..Please Winnie, this ain’t right, let’s end it now.” Asher called out and was answered by a thud of a pistol hitting the ground. The kid quickly popped his head up and looked into the upper floor, fully expecting to see a gun pointed his way or worse. but he saw the pistol on the ground by the bed, as was the rifle. Winnie was on the bed and both her and the sheets were covered in blood. He'd managed to wound her in the stomach which was a slow, painful way to die. She was clutched her stomach with both hands and whimpered softly. "Oh Buddha. It hurts so bad."

Andrew and Fenris moved down the street when the radio sounded off the goings on in the jail. After Ash had called out to Winnie they didn't hear any more shots but they still moved in fast.

However, as they drew next to Will Bill's Saloon (#16), headlights from a vehicle shone brightly coming from the main roadway. Whatever it was made a god-awful racket as it did too, like piecemeal junker made by someone who didn't know engines well enough. Andrew moves back out of reflex and you think that you saw the hover-thing long before the driver could spot you. But whoever is driving it, is heading directly towards you and the jailhouse at a break neck speed. As it passes Bailey's barn (#7) it swings wildly to the side and swerves towards the front doors of the jail.

The hover-thing has dual mounted chain fed machine guns welded and duct taped to its hood! The front looks like parts of a MK-7 and the back like a heavy hauling industrial lifter. Whoever is driving, is not going for subtle.

ooc: As the piecemeal junker swerves, those guns are pointed at the jail, not Andrew or Wolf.

Here is main floor map

You are in #8. Please don't meta-map, work with what you have been given only.

There is a large rug on the floor, now staained. There are four chairs pushed back against the wall. Other than that, the room is very spartan. (Don't! Go! There!)

Humans! They call you orcs, or goblins, or even worst. But you are proud members of the Clan of the White Ham! Orcs! Bah …. Spit! For generations the filthy humans raid your homeland, steal your gold and kill your warriors with malice. They call themselves adventurers as if doing so was a game for pleasure and fun. But there is little you could do to strike back as the humans had greater magic, sharper weapons and rode fast creatures called horses. But now the dirty stinking humans have gone too far. They came with the cursed sun and did the unthinkable – they took all your women!

Yes, while a large portion of the clan was out hunting for food, the humans came with a large party of “adventurers” and they used great magic to kill the few warriors left behind and then – they took captive all the women. No doubt an evil plot to whip out your race! Revenge must be had! The Clan of the White Ham will not stand by and die for these stinking human maggots.

By a small token of fortune, four (to six) of the humans were killed during the raid and their magic weapons and armour have been recovered. The few elders left have decided that an attack on mass would just be a slaughter that the humans wish to see, but a small group, armed with the magic of the humans might be able to sneak into the keep and find the women to rescue them. A group of 4-6 clan members can adventure right back at them! Who will volunteer?

This is not your ordinary campaign. You will play the “monsters” in a game to rescue the princesses and snatch victory from those evil evil vile foul evil humans. Below are four types of monsters you can play and their abilities described in as much detail as you need, you don’t need to worry about HP/AC or To hit as I control them anyway. So it doesn’t matter if you are 1e, 2e, 3e or 4e players, you can play this game. Equipment will be provided in a list of stuff taken from the dead and you can divide it up as you see fit. If you choose Orogs or Hobgryl, I will provide more details on spells. There are no half Orog half dragons. Stick to the list please.

Now although you are playing monsters, this is not an evil campaign. In fact, you are the good guys and the humans are the evil creatures. So if you are thinking of backstabbing and killing party members – go elsewhere. You will put aside differences and work together to rescue the women. As well you should work on a “personality” for your character monster as even the lowliest of orcs have dreams and ambitions. You would have a name and reason for volunteering.

I would like to see some new players in this game to give them a chance to play but I will see how recruitment goes. This is a one shot adventure only. I can’t see the characters developing a love for adventuring and going forth. After all, you need to repopulate the clan!

The “Subraces” of the White Ham Clan

Boggles – You are warrior! You like big weapons with sharp edges or lots of spikey things. You crash through humans like … a big crashy thing. Thinking is for leaders and you can’t lead because there are humans to kill.
Look like: 7-8 feet tall, brown fur, leathery hide, muscles (Bugbear)
Best stat: Strength (Kill!)
Good Stat: Constitution (No hurt me!)
Bad Stat: Wisdom (Huh?)
Really Bad Stat: Intelligence (Huh?)
Weapon use: Any (really…you’d use a cow as a weapon if it was close by)
Armour: Any – you’d wrap horse barding around you
AC/HP: Take lots of damage and still keep going
Skills: Your basic fighter with lots of HP

Orog – You are one with the gods of orcs. You chat with them daily and even have a few over for an ale once in awhile. You can cast spells that heal and make fire and spiritual stuff. You are a natural leader and your people respect you.
Looks Like: 5-6 feet tall, Grey fur, pale skin, thin (Orc Shaman)
Best stat: Wisdom (You talk to gods)
Good Stat: Charisma (You are a leader)
Bad Stat: Constitution (You hang around a lot of sick people)
Really Bad Stat: Strength ( you pray a lot instead of working out)
Weapon use: Single handed only
Armour: Nothing heavier than chain, shield allowed
AC/HP: Not that tough but you can stand a hit or two
Skills: Shaman/Cleric

Shulls – You are the scouts and recon of your clan. You are sneaky, hide well and enjoy a good unprotected back to put a dagger in. You aren’t a toe to toe fighter that a boggle is and you often get killed but you can regenerate so it isn’t that bad.
Looks Like: 3-4 feet tall, green rubbery skin, sunken eyes (small troll)
Best stat: Dexterity (Sneaky sneaky)
Good Stat: Intelligence (You know stuff)
Bad Stat: Strength (there is a reason why you sneak)
Really Bad Stat: Charisma (You are ugly! No really.)
Weapon use: Dagger, short sword, short bow
Armour: Leather only, no shields
AC/HP: Thank the gods you regenerate cause you die a lot.
Skills: Rogue/Thief

Hobgryls – You are dark and mysterious. You can bend the laws of physics and the universe in your hands. Well, you can cast spells (Mana: 5, lvl 2) and stuff that no one else can. So there!
Size: 4-5 feet tall, Reddish skin, hairless, Big jaws (hobgoblinish)
Best stat: Intelligence (You are smart)
Good Stat: Dexterity (you need coordination to cast spells)
Bad Stat: Strength (You need to lift books only)
Really Bad Stat: Wisdom (you blow stuff up for fun)
Weapon use: Staff and dagger only
Armour: No armour! Or Shields. Fur and robe only
AC/HP: You like to have a few boggles to hang around, behind them
Skills: Mage

Topic: Destiny's Flight - A Serenity RPG
Subject: a short post to get everyone moving

Destiny broke atmo with ease and it was good to be in the black again. The wine barrels were tied down to the floor of the cargo bay with tension straps to make sure they didn't shift suddenly. The last thing you needed was a barrel to break in flight. Not that these were flimsy wooden barrels but any stretch of the imagination. They probably could take a lot of tussle.

Everyone goes to their stations as always, except the doctor who seems to be restless. As you start to go to burn, she is wandering up to where the passenger rooms are, not saying why.

Jon, Jason, Ken and Tess are on the bridge as you put distance between the planet of Greenleaf and yourselves. Nice, well paying job of delivering wine to Osiris - this could all go quite smoothly.

Suddenly, the sensors light up on Tess screen. She flicks the switches and put the proximity detector on a side screen. There was a alliance cruiser coming up from behind them, matching speed. Tess quickly checked the pulse and the name "Erikson" pops up - special detachment to the federal marshalls.

Tess looks a question to the Captain. run or not? It hadn't hailed them or tried to catch up.

Just then the doctor stuck her head into the room. "Umm Guys....I think I found something that you need to see. Might want to call Grace as well, we'll need her."

“Will destroying the items also close this portal you’re speaking of?” The captain asked.

Greta laughed briefly, "In theory. Please understand Captain that all I tell you is in theory and conjecture alone. Until a few moments ago, even I believed they only existed in the imagination of madmen. I am glad that you are so resolved gentlemen."

With Brutal on point, the unit moved into the next room. The room is a large entry hall, with a great stairs to the left, a hallway to your right and another set of bronze covered double doors across the 40 foot expanse of the room. Cobwebs hang from dust covered columns, illuminated by a few electric bulbs hung from ancient iron scones. Stone gargoyles stare down at you from a rim-ledge along the domed ceiling. Cracked and faded frescos are covered by years and years of decay.

On the floor of the room are two German soldiers, very dead and dismembered. You could swear that just for a second you heard pipe organs playing but it may have been a trick of the wind, like the trick of the shadows that made the gargoyles seem to shift.

... and then they move again and you realize this is no trick of the light.

Suddenly eight sets of glowing red eyes snap open and stare at you like you were the main course of the dinner. They take flight to swoop upwards and then plunge towards you, dark talons at the ready.

OOC: The room is approximately 40 by 40 with a 20 foot wide corridor branching to the right of the main doors for another 30 feet. The stairway to the left goes up into darkness.

Hello,

If you have a D&D myth that you'd like Alacrity and Bromern to break, let us know here.

Can be from any RPG game, not just D&D. Space, western, zombie, vampire - you name it. You can also suggest ones from Video Games and Anime/Manga as well. Heck, the sky is the limit if we can find something funny about it.

Upcoming episodes will include:

Fighting with Two swords at once
Examining certain classic "rooms" in old modules (were they possible or not)
Never touch another man's dice

We'd love to hear from you.
