Subject: Okay....This is how it goes
Grugg has also told me he doesn't have time to play and doesn't know when it will change. So out of six, we have lost three. The way I see it we have three options:
1) Dig up two players to take the roles or swap in new ones.
2) Drop the Doc and get a new captain and go with five
3) End the game and put it down as another rpg ruined by RL.
I know where MMV stands so I need to hear from Celeste, Phalan and YeOlde.

BTW - I screwed up and forgot that Andrew's gun had silencers so the shots that Wolf heard would have been the deputy firing in reflex as he died.

"No! It can be you! Your Dead! I killed you myself."
Ash was a young man, with good reflexes and enough experience in death dealing situations that when the realization of a booby-trap first triggered in his brain, he was ducking a and rolling expecting the worst. Luckily, it wasn't the worst that he could have come up with and the flash bang didn't hit the full of his face. but there was initial disorientation and he let himself be compromised for it. Luck was with him as this young lady with a rifle choose to stare in disbelief instead of shooting, which saved the Kid's life. he drew out his python and fired off three fast rounds at her. She threw herself down on the stairs as he fired and scrambled upwards, but Ash heard her cry out in pain - he had wounded her. As he move to get up, she opened up with the rifle through the floorboards. Splinters and dust filled the air but she missed Ash completely.
(Going up the stairs or returning fire though the floor?)
"You are going to take me to my Jimmy! You are going to bring him back home or I will end you right here!"
Wolf turned slowly to look at the woman pointing a gun at him. She wasn't even holding the gun right and would probably hurt herself if she shot him, but that wouldn't really help him after the fact. Nora was hurting and had every right to be but Wolf wasn't about to let himself be killed for her grief. Nor was he keen on the idea of hitting a lady. "Nora. Now let's be calm about this. You know I ain't no pilot."
"I don't care! I want my Jimmy back safe and sound!"
"I understand that."
"Now!!!" she cried.
"Be reasonable Nora!"
"I'm not feeling reasonable! I want my Jimmy. Do something or I'll kill you."
"If you want to kill me, " Wolf said plainly, "Better take the safety off."
Nora looked down at the firing mechanism and that was all that Wolf needed, he snatched the shotgun by the barrel and pulled it out of Nora's hand. "I'll help you more if you don't point a gun at me."
Nora Blake looks dumbfounded at the mechanic as if she has no idea how he did what he did. Then, any semblance of control is lost and she crumbles to the ground, crying like a baby. As Wolf moves to comfort her, he hears the sounds of gunfire from outside.

“Curfew?”… well to tell the truth I am new here abouts… I have been out in the brush for weeks and just now came into town… didn’t know there was a curfew… no trouble I hope… but see I just came into town looking for a hot meal and something to drink” Andrew said nodding to the saloon door.
"Oh. In that case..." The man answered, "Move along and stay off the streets." and as he waves towards the salloon, the comm unit on his belt squelches and a woman's voice comes across loudly, " Come here quickly! I got one at the jail!"
The deputy starts to turn to Andrew and he sees the drawn pistol too late. he goes for his guns as Andrew fires twice at the man. he staggers back, blood seeping rapidly into his shirt as he draws his pistol. Bowman fires a third time which puts the man down on the ground.
(Check if he is dead or run to save Ash?)

"Any readin’s on what each level contained, Mr. Cullen? Barrin’ that, what’s the history of this here mine? When were the shafts dug, and what reasoning pointed the miners to this here spot?” Wyatt asked.
"Well, this mine was considered played out before the war, that was the old shaft I was telling you about. But JW won the mine in a hand of cards and decided to check it out once the war had ended. There had been some scrimishes here, and the area had seen some bombing by the looks of things, so we sunk another shaft, this one here and tried going under the old mine - and hit paydirt. But that's why we avoid the first level because it is very unstable. Bombing shook it loose like someone drove a cruiser right through it.
"As to reading, I can't help you much. If that sheriff is down there, well I'd be much obliged if you left him there if you catch my meaning. As to Brigit, she is crafty but I think JW would like to see her brought to justice and bound by law for all she's done wrong to these here people. Besides, JW would like to get some answers out of her for all that was made up and what was real."

for those not familiar with my games, a Silver Screen is a narrative that is happening outside the realm of the player's view but is important for plot and story. You can not act upon it, but it builds tension within the story and it helps the players understand why some things are happening even if the characters do not.

“Hello. I’m Sanders. Federal Marshal.” He says producing an official badge from his pocket, “You brought a companion, one Priscilla Barnes, in yesterday on a D5753 dash 432. I have been asked to check on her status and yours as this is a restricted area. Mind If I ask a few questions?”
"We did? I didn't look at the paperwork, I jut signed it", Jon looks up at the Fed noncommittally and gestures a 'go ahead' with his hand.
“How is Ms. Barnes? Will she be ready to leave soon?”
According to my doctor, she will recover by she'll need a few weeks to be up and companioning again."
“That long! Oh. Do you intend to wait for her or move out?”
"No sir." Jon says with a smile, "Too gorram expensive to stay here. We will be leaving tonight. Gonna enjoy the sunshine while it is free, and then fuel up and head out"
"I understand. Did you find a cargo here? I see you posted on the boards."
"Nothing here." the captain lied, "Like i said, too expensive to stay here. Is there a problem Officer?"
Sanders rapidly typed into his PADD and nodded. "No Captain. That is fine. The LEO station asked me to check, that's all. Enjoy the weather." He smiled as he put away his device and looked knowing at Ken standing there looking bored. The Marshall had already lost interest in them, you could tell by his body language. He returns to his men and his table where he tells someone named Hudson to give him back his beers.
Grace continued on to Destiny without speaking to the Marshall. She eyed the ASREV as she walked pass it, remembering a time when she stole one of those during the war. If the feds followed procedures, and they always do, they would have a link already connected to port authority. She smiled as she made her way to her room. Any door out is a door in too
When she got to her personal com station, there was a message light flashing, from Yukiko. She quickly secured the message, ran it through a decryptor, scanned it with two different bug sniffers and then funnelled the message through a trace sieve. Since it was from a known contact, she went ahead and played the message without further precautions.
"Kaida. You may be on to something. Magistrate Higgins just paid for that Priscilla to fly to Ariel not more than a two months ago. I couldn't go deep into med recs, you know how tight they are, but it was an elective procedure. I also can tell you that someone using Higgin's personal cortex has been scanning news and obituaries since you left Higgin's moon. Could be checking for lost uncles with cash, but seems timely. Anyway, it looks like you are in the middle or someone else's business so stay out and stay clear."
Silver Screen - Meanwhile, on Higgin's Moon
Magistrate Higgins was sitting down to his breakfast when his personal assistant came in. Higgin's looked up at him, "You look Grim Jeeves. Did someone die?"
"Umm. no sir." Jeeves said quietly, looking around to make sure none of the serving staff were around, "I'm afraid not."
"Higgins stood up, "What do you mean?!" he asked harshly.
"Seems that the ship she left on, managed to get her to a hospital in time Magistrate."
"Where?"
"Greenleaf sir."
"GREENLEAF!!!!!!!" Higgins shouted and then lowered his voice, "Greenleaf. Might as well be gorram Niska's Skyplex! I thought that stuff you got couldn't be traced."
"In an autopsy sir! Unfortunately someone on the tramp freighter had an inkling of medical training and saved her."
"Oh this is bad Jeeves. Very bad. When I pay to have someone killed, I expect it to happen! Get someone there! Don't care how and I don't want excuses."
"I'm afraid there is more bad news sir." Jeeves swallowed hard, "Seems that the procedure you paid for with Ms. Barnes? It wasn't the procedures you thought." and the assistant handed Higgins a report labelled "Ariel Hospital".
The magistrate read it and his face turned pale, "No! No no no. how could she!?"
"I know sir. Hard to buy loyalty. Good thing you planned on having her killed."
"Do you know what this means?"
"Yes sir. Congratulations?"
"What! No! I am not happy! I'll tell you what I do like though: a killer, a dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold blooded, clean, methodical and thorough. Get me one or two and now!!!!!!!!"

“Jake, get your ass back here. Everyone run I don’t have that many bandages! “S*** Jake move....Run Corbin....Sarge get Greta away from the bridge…….., everyone back here quick……., Holy Mother Of God!”
“Everybody inside the castle! NOW!”
“I’ll cover you…”
McGuiness ran as fast as he could but the tentacle shot out quickly and grabbed him by the foot, lifting him high into the air. Greta and John opened up with their rifles at the tentacle holding the Private. The bullets pieced the flesh of the creature and caused it to loosen the grip and let go off the sniper. Corbin managed to tuck and roll as he came down, lessening the damage to his body.
Sarge and Brutal run to face the creature and open up in full auto from atop the bridge. The captain joins them but soon realizes the magnitude of the beast they are facing, calling for a withdrawal to the castle. The bullets from the two machine guns rip through the monster, greenish goo drips from the wounds but keeps on coming. It tries to smash at Brutal and the Sarge but it's wild trashing, it breaks the stone and mortar of the bridge and shatters the wood planks. The entire bridge is destroyed in seconds - your only way in and out if this castle.
As the Captain, Greta, John, and Corbin move towards the castle, Brutal and Sarge exhaust their magazines and almost in unison, pull the pins on their grenades and throw, hoping to blast this creature into the hell it came from. Sarge's bounces off a tentacle, but Brutal times his just right and the grenade slips pass razor sharp teeth to the belly of the beast.
*BOOM.....BOOM*
The grenades explode and green goo is spread over the cliff walls of the chasm like so much green jelly in a blender. The two soldiers withdrawal backwards, reloading as they go. There is a horrible keening noise from the chasm - whatever it is, the thing is wounded, in pain but still alive. No more tentacles come up from the edge though.
The courtyard is filled with equipment and generators. There has been a fire fight here, as you step on shell casings and slip on blood smears across the grass. The ornate door to the castle hangs open. Fluttering generator fed lights cast dim yellow flickers from the entry way. Twenty feet into the castle, a second set of doors are ajar. Overhead, in the entryway, four statues of dragons glare down, eyes flickering in the electric lights.
With the bridge gone, there is no way off this mountain except the sheer cliffs below. Greta wheezes as you reach the main doors, "There is a secret passage in the crypts of the castle - they lead out though caverns. That is are only way out now."
Going into the castle has become the only way to Escape from Castle Rautenberg!!!
OOC: Sarge and Brutal are down a full clip and their grenades - you have 4 clips left now each. Greta went through a full clip on her rifle, and Reid used a half clip
