Subject: What is all this about my daughter???????????

My daughter is Veronica. She is ten. She doesn't participate on the inn and she doesn't have a username. She often looks over my shoulder when I am on it, but so far has not shown a real interest in the internet. She has an email, but never uses it.

I introduced V to D&D about two years ago along with my god daughter Emilee, but strictly tabletop and very d&d lite. (All the monsters, less rules)

Veronica loves reading and is way above her grade level. She is currently working through my collection of the Sherlock Holmes stories.

Anyone attempting to set her up will meet with a sudden and immediate death. And pain, lots of pain.

Anyone else want to share about their children?

Subject: Dodger and Crew

hey Gang!

Who is all going to the meeting with Dodger about your cargo? Need to know so I can move you along.

So you aren't going in blind. Dodger is a black gentlemen, very tall and resembles Bob Marley. He started out on the streets of Beaumonde as a street courier. He worked his way up in the underworld on a reputation of being reliable. He grew his own courier company, then branches out into other forms of goods transfer. His word is golden. There are very important and extremely dangerous people out there that trust him to move their goods. As such, few dare touch him because the ramifications are deadly. Dodger does not carry a gun or any other type of weapon, claiming it is against his religion but really he doesn't have to. He has two bodyguards with him at all times (Hack and Slash).

Dodger's weakness is the ladies.

So sound off so I can get us moving. I'd like to get you to the comet by the middle of next week.

Hair is brown, and shaved within 1/8 of an inch on the scalp.

Age - 40 turning 41. It's not the hours that creep on by like an old love of mine, it's the years that simply disappear that are doing me in.

People advertise or call you up about a job opportunity. They say it is Managerial (or Production oriented) but when you get the interview, suddenly the position is that of a salesperson.

I do not want to do sales. If they told me from the start, then I wouldn't waste their or my time on an interview. What do they think? That they can trick people into becoming sales reps? If it is, that a silly approach!

Beaumonde, Thrasher City, East Central Market, 2:00 PM ET

Some times they walk away

“Your friend’s a smart man” she said as she stared him dead in the eye. “I am Wei Shan Dohn Woo. (Big Danger) “And if you don’t want to find out just how much, stranger…move on now.”

Zee’s hand moved to the pistol on his side. Kora moved with reflexes trained deep and hard within her, and delivered a round house kick to the big man head, sending him spinning to the ground. It wasn’t all that difficult to knock the man down, considering his drunken state. There was a moment that passed, as Zee wrestled in his mind between the humiliation of being dump on the ground by a woman in a crowded place, and the severe possibility of it happening again.

Kora stood ready for retaliation as the man slowly picked himself up from the ground. The other man came and put a firm arm on his shoulder to help him make the decision to walk away. “Ain’t worth it Zee.”

Zee nodded reluctantly, “Right Hzi. You’re right.” He staggered back then turned around, as of he forgot something. He looks at Willow. “I’m sorry Lady. Had a bit too much today. Didn’t mean no harm.” Then he glower at Kora, his look at her said “this ain’t over” before turning with his brother to walk away.

Willow and Kora found themselves with all eyes upon them. Many people were muttering and staring, and the mute fear in their eyes was a sight not unfamiliar to Kora.

Beaumonde, Thrasher City, Idoru Bar, 2:00 PM ET

Date? Boy, I’m a sure thing

Asher followed Beth to the room behind the coat check. The girl definitely drew him in.She reminded the lad of home... and simplier times... better times. The area in the back was simple enough. Two bedrooms created by slapped up drywall and thermal foam for “soundproofing”. Another lady was in the back, older than Beth and not as voluptuous, her vibrant blonde hair could only be from a bottle. She was brushing her teeth in a pull out sink and she winked slyly at Beth as the two of you enter.

"Miss Beth," Asher said softly. "There ain't no denyin' I'd love t' bed ya right now." He kissed her again. "But I want t' do ya right. Not just like a stallion with some mare... but gentleman like." Another kiss. "So, I got t' ask ya.. are you free t' leave here fer a bit? 'Cause I'd love t' take ya away from here... if only fer a bit."

Beth looked at Asher with disbelief. “You playing with me Kid? I ain’t no innocent young farm girl you know. I sell my back side and give half to owner of this dive. You pay the coin, I’m yours, anyway you want. I’m no companion. You want to take me away for a spell, I need the funds to hand over, or else my backside will be switched. So you want to cover for your gentleman like ways, I need to see the coin.”

(assuming some inquiry as to how much)
The other lady spat out toothpaste and laughed, “Oh go on Beth. I’ll cover your ass while your gone, and it ain’t like we’s got a humpin line up.”

Beth looked over, “You sure?”

“Go girl. We ain’t likely to get many a gentleman in here again. Take him while you can.”

Beth smiled at Asher, “Let me get my coat.”

Beaumonde, Thrasher City Space Dock, 2:15 PM ET

When the Dealin’Done

“We got us a bit of time t’ pass ‘fore the meetin’, Sam. If you wanna check out the local color, I’m good with that,” Wyatt offered as they made their exit, “I’ll be headin’ back to Rocinante t’ go over some figures before Dodger tries t’ rip us off.”

“Nah,” Dash decided, convincing himself that Beaumonde was just a little too close to the Core for his liking, “I’m shiny, Cap. If I’m gonna rope that comet, I reckon I prob’ly oughta look ta Roc’s nav systems an’ sech. Ya go flyin’ inta th’ tail of a comet an’ navsats get pretty damn useless, get me?”

The two men made arrangement to meet Grif back at the Docks later than evening, after they had (hopefully) emptied their cargo bay. Leaving the young Asher to his distraction, the two friends amble their way back to Rocinante. They arrive at the docks just as Kora and Willow return with the groceries and provisions in tow. The Patrol of alliance soldiers are continuing their search of the ground level of the docks, but they have moved on to another section. Wyatt and Sam hear the dockworkers talking about an order coming down to open all ships to search that docked before 10:00 am today. That would exclude Rocinante, but not the Royale. Hopefully, Griffith has nothing to hide in there.

OOC: There you go. A moving forward post. My next post will be Willow, Wyatt and whoever wants to go along – meeting with Dodger and dealing with your cargo.

Asher- How long do you want your “date” to go? What is your budget for the event?

We have been hit with about 5 inches of snow and have another 5 to 10 coming. So, believe it or not my post has been delayed due to snow. However, once I do get to work, things will probably be dead, so I might have time today.

Yes, in Canada we go to work in snow storms. There could be three feet of snow and we will all slowly drive through whiteout conditions to get to work. However, in the summer when it is sunny and hot - we call in sick and take time off.

The game is going along well Scarab. It isn't moving at the pace you'd find interesting, but for those of us wrapped up in our own lives, it is moving just fine, thanks.

I can't see the pace increasing any time soon. As to new members, I'd have to say no. I gave you first crack at this Scarab and you turned me down on the basis that once a week wasn't fast enough.

You are welcome to follow along and if the crew outvotes, then I'd let another in.

Subject: Posting for Arien will be a Tall, bald and scary looking dude....

Arien looked down at the dagger offered to him by Char. It was Alloryn’s dagger, of that he had no doubt. Their mother had given it to her as a going away present – to keep her safe.

But Alloryn is on her way home right now. With a Caravan of merchants she joined

There were times when as twins they were so very close. One would be hurt, and the other would feel pain. Yet Alloryn could blind him with a lie so completely that he didn’t know …

Until it was too late

She’d lie to him about going home. Those dreams she was having about a six fingered man, and a tower. Welcome to her nightmare

“Alloryn is my sister. Twin actually.” He said aloud with a voice cool and detached, “She is a powerful mage and isn’t supposed to be miles near this place. But if this dagger is here, then so is she. Now that I see this before me, I have no doubt she is being held within the Keep. What foul treachery has brought us to this?”

The knight takes the dagger from Char and nods a mute thanks to the Ranger. “I won’t lie to you. Every part of my body wants to charge down there right now and slay every foul creature that laid a hand upon her, until I set her free or avenge her …” He trailed off, unable to say the words. “But that will boon us not. You say the sewer grate is passable? Let us move as soon as cover of darkness falls. Adrian and Jal can create a distraction with their magic. Then we shall enter though the grates, gain entrance to the Keep. Alloryn will be in the closed off section of the tower, I know it in my soul. Any questions or counter strategies bring them forth now.”

(Assuming some conversation)

Arien motions to Char to step aside with him, “Char, I want you to lead the rest once we get in. My focus will be Alloryn and her rescue. If something happens to me, I want you to keep everyone together. Will you do that for me friend?”

Darkness Falls

It is dusk, and you prepare to strike out for the assault. Then something happens. It is hard to describe but to most of the party it is like a strong wind blowing across the land, but in a wave come from the tower, pushing away. Dapple feels it deep within her body, like a saw tearing through her flesh. A deep hatred of elves so strong.

For Kilgim it is like an ecstasy – as if for a brief moment he feels the hand of his god upon him, blessing him and giving him guidance.
But for Jal and Adrian, it is a rush like no other. Their Mana within swells, and they feel arcane power flow through them like never before. Unstoppable power courses through their bodies and souls like the waves of a waterfall. No magic is beyond their touch, no spell beyond their reach.

Then, within a moment it is gone. Everything goes back to the way it was, and it is like it never happened.
