Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: progress
I have an adventure now. I have to personalize it but I have the first adventure.
Still want to re-read the main rules once and a couple of the supplements. As I asked before, give me until end of the week.
Snozzle - I am pushing 50 so I have been gaming since 1983ish. I remember when 1e AD&D was new!

I screwed this up. I need to fix that
Okay. I see what I did wrong. Let me post a couple of new pics at lunch.
The shuttle bay doors are on the side of the ship. The where is the problem. Maps contradict each other by in the TV show, which I consider canon they were closer to the back end of the ship and on either side.

Topic: Voyages of the Rocinante - Firefly RPG QnA Subject: shuttle doors
The soldiers have blown open the doors that usually lead to the shuttle bays. They blew doors at the same time so you have two points of entry now, three if you count the cargo bay door.
The EVA hatch is in the roof between the galley and the stairwell. You have not hear it opened or the flashbangs go off. But it is possible they went off during the explosion of the door or the ship's alarm warning of a guarantee protocol in place.
Does this help? A view looking into the interior from the cargobay.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: Char
There is a big difference between min-maxing and fudging a bit. I have 30 years experience playing RPGs so I will spot overpowered characters.
However if you really want an Entertainer (erotic dancer) becomes an Scholar (CSI investigator) who became a Agent (Law Enforcement) then don't worry if the dice say no.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: I would assume
Well you can do the random rolling for yourself and give me a character sheet in the end. I really do not care if you "fudge" a bit because you have to be happy with your character.

I do not know what the tonnage is of this ship yet. If it cannot fly then I can work with the Imperial Scout/Courier Type S class.

I am currently looking at a pre-made Ship I have picked up that will belong to the patron. This is not engraved in stone right now though.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: getting there
I had a discussion via twitter with a guy that has been a traveller player since the beginning so I am more in tune now and at least have a direction.
So, what I am thinking is 4-6 players, you have a ship, you may have a patron, and there will be a basic underlying theme to your missions but you are independent operators. I will most likely use the Spinward Marches as a setting.
So give me a week to read up on things and we shall move from there. If anyone wanting to play can create a character, go ahead, it may help me tailor the campaign.
Level? I was thinking MID(3-4)terms served before we start with everyone mustering out of last career.
Tech - I am thinking around 14. I am open to thoughts on this from experienced players.

From where you are in my mind, yes you can see both doors. I have you on the platform between both doors, but below.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: well
Character creation in Traveller seems to be one of the most interesting processes in RPGs I have seen. You can almost die before you start to play?
I am new to Traveler so I am open to suggestion. Otherwise I would assume people would have to create their characters and pass them by me.
I am thinking we need a pilot, a mechanic, a scientist and gunner. But there will have to be some cross-training of course.

Topic: The Gobber King Subject: i keep posting in the wrong place
The bugbear leader flexed his injured hand and glared at the adventurers before him.
“Listen,” The Khord said to the beast, “I’m sure you’d like to get back to your mistress of the undead.” He tapped the symbol of the enflamed rose on the creature’s armor. “Also, I’m pretty sure you don’t want to die. So, we could arrange something. When morning comes, we are going to leave this room. We don’t like loose ends, but if you’re helpful, we might let you live. Tell us how you got to this place."
"I am already dead Squator, The bugbear said wearily using another term for a Khord, "If I return to the Mistress now, I will only be killed over a period of days to serve as example to others not to fail. So I ask for a clean death only and I will tell you what I know."
(assuming you agree.)
"We were sent here by the Mistress to slay the wizard who inhabits this place. The bolts on the crossbow are made specifically to slay mages. He is about to undergo the transformatiom. I do not know what that means but the mistress feared it happening so we were sent to stop it and kill him. Now you know why I do not wish to return. The necklace the Gelfling is playing with is a spell that would return us home. So unless you wish to meet the Mistress, You might not want to break that crystal."
(comments, questions)
"We were teleport here by the Mistress and entered into the room with steam. When we saw you we thought you were minions of the wizard. We were not "trapped" like you, but the Mistress did not provide a map for us."
(anything to ask or add?)
After the Bugbear relates his story, he calmly and stoically accepts his fate, not seeking any last minute betrayal or tricks. He dies without a sound.
Watches are set up and rest is needed as it has been a very very long day. You eat from the food you have and the drink you can find. The pool's water seems to purify itself of the blood within minutes.
Although you set watches, for some reason sleep overtakes the first watch like a wave and all of you in the evening. You wake up - presumably in the morning, and you are refreshed and fully recovered from any wounds. You did not have any dreams you can remember.
Tim to find another portal to leave this room behind.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: Maybe
Still searching for a storyline that grabs me.
So far I got a crew of 4 on a ship that is not quite what it seems. It looks like junk, has a seriously powerful stellar sensory array and has a jump drive like no other. Exploring the fringes of known galaxy but with a salvage licence, a miner guild card and well that is where I peter out.
Need to find some modules for inspiration

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: d20 - no
Serenity is not d20. It is the cortex system by Margaret Weis. I have the rules outlined in the QnA and with online games you really don't need to know the rules completely.
Looking through your links. Still looking for a concept to base a game around.

Topic: Traveller game interest? Subject: Hmmm
I found the rules were interesting an character creation is certainly comprehensive, there is very little on history, background and setting. There is mention of a Third Imperium but nothing on what is does or means. Is it like Space Rome? Is it like the Federation?
I am playing two space opera in the form of Serenity RPG games. Looking fir a pilot in one of them too. If I had something to work with for traveller, I might be interested but I'd have to start somewhere.
