Topic: Save the Princess Q and A
Subject: define too soon

I have been nagging and pushing players in this game since early February. I have asked if people need more from me, if RL is a problem to let me know and I will NPC or make arrangements. I have received nothing back until now when I end the game.

Incidently, the email notifier doen't work for me either. So I check the games as regularly as I can.

In case you hadn't realized it, I put a lot into my games. I draw maps by hand, I write out details I look at the party and created sub-plots based on the characters. I have to squeeze that in between work, kids, school, and everything else life has in store for me. When I start feeling like I'm getting nothing back, and I have posted three times about lack of posts - you accuse me of giving up. I can't play the game alone and when half the party is missing and some of those are moderators, I don't see the point of continuing.

In fact, this will probably be the last game I create. It is too frustrating to keep this up. I will play CWWLLO and ROC as far as I can but I won't bother with a new game on here until I figure out a gladiator based game where if you don't post after two rounds, you're dead. I'll work on that when I have some free time.

I wrote this comc first, but felt that an intro was needed and did the first script second.

Thank you for all the viewers and comments. Lance and I appreciate all the feedback and thoughts on the comics.

Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off
Subject: I feel a quest coming on.

"Hail and well met, gentlemen," Arien began. "I am Arien Aston Thedell the Third, and these are my companions. We come on a mission from Dwan of the Iron League, and we would seek your council."

The most well dressed of the elders comes towards you in mystified but cheerful disposition. “Greeting good sir. I am Relg Fistele, a member of the town council. We are honoured to have such well spoken of warriors in our humble town. Dwan Granitecrusher sent you on a mission? What is that mission for your arrival is fortuitous as we were just about to ask Caicher Flynn here, “he says with a gesture towards to softly sing bard, “about a mission of our own.”

(I’m going to assume that Arien will reveal something about the mission but not about the strange illusion or time shift yet)

The elders look at each other in hearing of your mission, “Missing cattle? And persons? Well if that were true I would be very glad to see you all here but truth be known, it is not. We haven’t sent a messenger to Dwan yet, in fact, that was going to be one of the suggestions I was going to make.” Relg says with a mystified tone.

(some comments, questions, at this point)

“Allow me to tell you what has been happening. The priests that tend the temple by the ruins of the castle have not been seen from in a long time, at least a month. Usually a group will come to town for supplies on a weekly basis and yet we have not seen any of them for so long now. Furthermore, at night, we see no lights from the temple, nor do we see signs of fires from their chimneys. We had decided it was time to gather a group to go up and check on them, but with the history of the castle and the great evil there, we have been hesitant to do so. There are some who were warriors once in Hevlorn, but most have given up their swords for plows many years ago.” Relg explains.

(Questions, Comments)

Relg looks to the other council members who have keep to their own so far, and then turns back to you, addressing the knight specifically, “Since you are here and charged to our well being by Dwan, perhaps you would be willing to go to the temple for us? I know that Flynn here would probably welcome the chance to join you in this…what do you people call it? This quest?”

Okay. Finally having some time to go through notes, the party should be around the 7th level mark at the start of this adventure. however, it appears that I never advanced you so I must rectify these before you get into real combat.

Adrian - Mana would be 21+4INT so 25 total. Just in case you want to cast a spell. You now have 4th lvl spells open to you so you need to pick 5 spells to start your 4th level collection

Kilgim - Raven, Kilgim is now 5/4/2/1 which means that 4th level spells are open to you as well.

The whole lot of you who have a specialization in weapons - you are now at 2 attacks per round instead of 3/2. (Dagger throwers are 4 attacks)

All warriors and wizards get an additional weapon proficiency to get a new weapon or bump up a specialization

Warriors and Rogues get one non-weapon proficiency as well.

I will go through the characters over the next week or so and send them off and ask specifics from you.

Newhouse, Beylix, Jailhouse, 11:20am Day Three

Landlocked fer what, ya ching-wah tsao liu meng? We ain’t done nothin’ but land on yer s#!tpile of a rock on bonafide business… You ain’t got no ruttin' call ta go an’ put Roc inna gorram corral!” Sam asked,

Tell you what,” Wyatt drawled easily enough. “I’ll pay fifty credits. Consider it a handlin’ fee. You release Bowman, an’ we’ll shed dirt singin’ the praises o’ a fair and good lawman here on Beylix who can see further than the end o’ his nose. ‘Course, you’ll be kind enough t’ release my ship right away as well, cause you know that’s what’s good n’ proper. This here ‘Verse is filled with enough Big Bad Men…don’t need no Law joinin’ their ranks.”

As you stare at each other, waiting for someone to make a sign of backing down, the discussion of the gentlemen and the “would be” sheriff seems to be getting heated. There is some point of terms that they have become stuck on and neither side is willing to give in.

“50!” the sheriff says with a disgusted tone, “Tell you what, since I really don’t want to hold Luke here back from his destiny, I’ll let bail go for $250.”

“Not sure I’m going anywhere Sheriff.” Pearson says as he steps away from the towns folks.

“What!” The sheriff exclaims loudly, “what’s the problem?”

“We didn’t consider the travel expense for Mr. Pearson.” John Blake says with regret. “We mistakenly assumed that Mr. Pearson would cover it but he feels it should be part of the deal.’

“We are all agreed on the terms of payment with Mr. Pearson” Shem drawls regretfully, “But we didn’t consider that part of the deal.”

“Well let me cover that then Luke, as a thanks for everything you’ve done gift!” the sheriff says, “How much would it be for …” He starts to say and then turns his head and looks at Wyatt. “Oh…bother.”

Newhouse, Beylix, Emmett’s Bar, 11:30am Day Three

"James, dear, you did promise me a drink. Miss?" Willow waved gaily at the barmaid, "a bottle of your finest whiskey over here, three glasses, please!"

The lady brings over a dusty bottle of premium whiskey to the table with three glasses, “you gonna run a tab or do you want to add to my bosom bonanza, sugar?” she asks James. With a look that is an invite with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball.

“Umm … tab please.”

“For you honey, anything. And I do mean anything.”

Benny sits himself up and opens the bottle before anyone else can grab it. He pours himself a large one and downs it fast, pausing for a moment as it travels down his throat. He then pours a large dollop into all three glasses and looks at you with bloodshot but more aware eyes, “If you don’t mind, I need food. Been a while since solid food passed my lips.”

“That would be fine by me.” James agreed, “Miss? Can we have a menu?”

Benny laughed scornfully, “Menu? Bah! Fei hua! Where’d you come from? Darla! Can we get some Bao! It’s on his tab.” He calls across the room

“Sure thing Benny.”

“Okay.” Benny downs his drink again, “So you want my lucky piece. Fine with me because it ain’t given me much luck lately. Fei-oo! But what do you want it for?”

James clears his throat, “I represent a private collector.”

“Right.” Benny says dubiously, “What’s your story lady because he doesn’t look your type and you look like your story would be a whole lot more interesting?”

Brandr and Derry work together to brace the falling portcullis with one of the tables, allowing the rest of the party to enter. The pies are meat pies and the pitcher contains milk that has not yet soured but is no longer cold. The smell of burning is stronger in here, and definitely has a pastry scent to it.

There are sounds from the room to the north. You hear the sound of metal clattering and a guttural language being spoken. There are definitely beings in the kitchen.

Subject: Love the comic version of Olan

Thanks for the good reviews. Much appreciated.

The idea is to look at myths and legends that grow out of gaming and remain despite never actually being part of the rules. For example:

High dexterity mean you can automatically fight with two weapons.

If you have enough skills in "sneaking", you can move quietly in armour.

The Chain Mail bikini is better than plate on a female warrior.

As so on.

If there is a myth or legend of the game youd like us to look at, drop either Bromern or Myself a Pm or email. Doesn't matter what game system or genre; D&D, Cyberpunk, Space Opera, Western or 1e through 4e, we'd loved to hear from you. Keep it PG though.

This will in no way become a regular weekly comic here. Both Lance and I have jobs and families and this is a "when we have time" project. Loaded Dice is the star of this Inn and I look forward to it coming back at regular intervals.

Since I posted on April 18th, I have only four players post, and only two with actions. I am completely baffled here because I had such a good start with this campaign, but even the posts I am getting don't seem to have an action involved. Quips and commentary are great but I need to have movement to play the game.

Now I have asked before if I am not giving you enough to work with. No one spoke up. So I can only assume that half the group has lost interest, in which case I might as well close the game. Shame really because I have had such good tabletop with this module.

Speak up peeps, please.
