keeper had posted about new faces so I assumed he wanted his own character. I like the idea of a rogue character for him anyway and I know he is not picky about what he plays.
And Ody's character just died is dysentery.

We have a confirmed Ranger and Cleric. So another warrior, a mage, a rogue all would be welcome.

Topic: The Gobber King- QnA Subject: Okay then
Give me a bit to get a recruit post up and all. There is a good chance that I won't be available much this weekend due to personal issues.
Tann will keep his Ranger, Ody his Cleric. Level them up to 3rd level. Keeper - give me a 3rd level character please.
I will post a narrative and a loot list hut here is a partial:
The Sword of Night - Blade looks like the night sky. The sword is +1 to hit and damage in the day or underground, but under the night sky the sword is +2 to hit and damage and gives ultravision to the wielder up to 60 feet.
The Metamorph - A silver ball that can morph into any hand held weapon of a long sword size or smaller. The MM can not be used as a missile weapon as it turns to a liquid metal ball if released. All weapons formed are +1 in nature.
The Boomstick - A Wand of Wonder with a big button to activate (see Alacrity's magic items). 19 charges left and the red end the point to aim.

of six players in this game:
Only two are original players
I have three drops now as Kyle has not posted over a month and was a month prior before he posted before.
This module is a bit cerebral for an online game and I have been struggling with it since the beginning.
So I am favouring option 3. Narrative ending. New adventure with level up character and a new character if you are playing someone else. No more "puzzle" based modules. Ody, Tann and Keep I assume will stay on with the loot from this adventure.

With option 3 you would keep the magic you have now. I am favouring that solution as people can come abroad with characters they want to play instead of someone else's character.

Topic: The Gobber King- QnA Subject: Aryn is out
Scott is out due to real life events taking his time. We have also lost Almerin as he can only play one game at a time with being a new father.
Not sure what to do as we are past halfway in the game and not sure I want to seek out new players. This has been a tough one with people changing and I don't feel it has momentum anymore.
So, options?
1) Let the game go - it fizzled.
2) I NPC the 2 missing until the end, people stay or go and we start another adventure. (I have sent one a few feelers for players but I think most people want to play their own character)
3) We end this adventure with a narrative and move to new party, anyone wishing to stay can stay and start another.

So you have nothing to add, I understand that. I can move things along then.
You might want to tell me if you don;t think you have anything to add so I don't think you have all abandoned the game, I feel unwanted and I go off, shave my head and join a cult somewhere.

Topic: TPK as a Solution Subject: TPK as a Solution
So.....
On the weekend, I read an interesting question posted on a Game Forum that went something like this:
"What do other DM's do when the players decide to screw around for the entire game session instead of playing their characters? I mean totally ridiculous actions, not playing their characters, abandoning all role play and no regard for the adventure, just wanting to screw around with me and the game no matter how often I ask them to get back on track?"
What I found interesting about this question was the replies/comments. A very high percentage of the answers called for a TPK. Bring in a Lich or Vampire Half-Dragon Lich in Diamond Armour or something the party could not defeat and kill everyone, and then make them roll up new characters. At first I thought this was rather arbitrary and condescending but then again, perhaps that is what happened in Moria. Party started screwing around, characters touching things they shouldn't, making noise when they should have been quiet - so DM Tolkien brought out an army of Goblins and a Balrog to get the party back in line? Bit harsh but it did work and they lost their spellcaster for awhile.
So I wanted to throw this out there to the Inn and see what people thought? What is your solution? Kill them all? Alternate plan?
Me? Well, I would take my GM screen, fold it up and drop it on my notes and pull out a book. When asked what was going on, I would explain that I put in a lot of time into these campaigns but if I am not having fun and they are wasting my time, then the game is over until they want to get back to playing properly. I have done it a few times over the years as a DM, and it has always worked. TPK to me have been and always will be a sign of poor DMing.

I will NPC you if necessary.
I never said it was Tomb of Horror without Training Wheels. I said I found Tomb of horrors to be a bit dull and I spiced it up a bit.
Remember - without monsters and traps, it is just a bunch of friends wandering around in the dark.

Topic: CWWLLO QnA Subject: when don't you feel like that?
Do you ever feel like things are as they seem in my campaigns? In any DM's campaign? Everyone has this paranoia in my game. The players that I subjected to the "Seeds of Darkness" - I can understand their paranoia but the rest of you? I do not get it. I have yet to begun to mess with your mind.

I believe that Nomad had asked vis Corban how much head trauma was needed to put down a low level undead? The Report is sketchy but the theory was the brain had to be destroyed. Usually one heat shot was enough, never more than two

Topic: Weird War II Subject: on to the plane
You all disperse to gather your gear and get ready for the mission. In a half hour time, you are on the airfield near a C-47 that is being fueled. Darling is waiting for you on the runway with two shotguns and a duffel bag. One of them you recognize as the Sauer 12g Double barrel Shotgun that you took from the farmer's house during the Rautenberg mission. The other is a pump action "Ithaca model 37 HS" in pristine condition - no really, it looks like it has never been fired or taken out of a case before.
"This is the best I could do on short notice. The Sauer you might remember but this one here is the personal property of a very dear friend of mine - so I'd appreciate it if it came back in good condition." Darling hands them over to you gingerly. "They are both the same gauge and I had young Durkins from the fire brigade load as many shells as he could with some road salt using a shell loader. Hopefully this will be enough for you."
In the duffel bag are:
two boxes of 12 double aught buck shells (24)
30 12g shells loaded with rock salt (The ice clearing road worthy rock salt)
As you board the plane you realize there is not a lot of room to sit as the cargo bay is rigged with fuel tanks and a snakepit of hoses running from them. A guy in a flight suit gives you a hand with coming on board and the supply container says, "Sorry about the tight fit there mates. We got to spend 12 hours in the air for this mission, give or take so we needed to take on extra fuel." He sniffs the gasoline scented air, "I would recommend no smoking on this flight. Sorry chums but I'd rather not risk the possibility if you caught my meaning. Hope no one is shooting at us along the way because we might just blow up like a roman candle on November 5th. Cheerio then."
OOC: Last chance to ask me for anything. More ammo? Mirror? White Phosphorus grenade?, flares?, etc etc .... you do not need to put water, salt tablets and food down, I assume everyone has 3 days worth.
If you are using the supply chute, I need to know exactly what you put into the container, just in the unlikely possibility your plane does get shot down and explodes hundreds of miles off course leaving you in the desert stranded.
Now if you want to know how effective rock salt is against humans, check out Rock Salt Shotgun. However, you have to remember the salt is for incorporeal spirit creatures only, which have no "body" to begin with, so consider that)

Unless I am asked I will assume you are going with the standard issue ammo.
You can get a bag or two of salt from the kitchen. The cook is sweet on Corban so he could manage to get a supply of basic table salt (1/2 lb bags)
Anything else, please let me know before I do the drop post.
