Okay, shall we start the betting pool for OLAN'S SIXTH? $5 in for month and year that Donna becomes pregnant again. Addition $5 in for eventual birth month and year. We would have a gender pool but everyone would bet male.

Congrats Olan!

I do approve of YeOlde taking over as Ken. He is a great role player and is very familar with the cortex rule system as I play them. I will add your name to the accepted posters.

Mysterion - if you ever find yourself back wit hthe internet, I would welcome in a game.

Subject: Serenity RPG needs a player

Hello

I am running a game using the Serenity RPG based on the Firefly TV series. I have lost a player and would like to find someone to take over the role or come abroad with a new character.

The player in question is "Ken" who is the hired gun, muscle man of the group - like Jayne only more pleasant and less greedy.

If you are interested let me know. I can walk you through the rules so don't worry about not knowing the system. It is a very "role-player" based game, so backgrounds and personality matter. You may take on the role of Ken if you'd like or bring in a new character and we could weave them in later on.

Thanks
Alacrity

I have posted to the game. Would be nice if our captain could join us.

I realize that I have not given much for the people going to the ship. I mostly need to know if you plan to continue to the ship or heading back with the marshals. I don't want to make assumptions. PM me if you want some info to write a a post beyond what I have here. For example I will give Grace the info her contacts got on the companion.

Topic: Destiny's Flight - A Serenity RPG
Subject: Marshal law

The captain of the ASREC stepped out on to the landing pad and removed his flight helmet. He had shockingly white hair (sticking up due to helmet head) with similar colouring for his moustache and the short beard that he sported, but his eyes were what drew your attention if you were close - bright blue, almost incandescent. He wore a black flight suit with a long black duster and black boots that looked a few years old. He carried a sidearm that was bigger than most, but carried no other weapons. He looked around and then his gaze stopped at the sight of Destiny. He pulled his PADD from his pocket and began to run data via a hookup to the port authority.

“Captain?” A short balding marshal came up from behind. He had a pistol on each hand, a bandolier with casings in every holding and a large rifle in his hand.

“Yes Hicks.” Captain Harland Sanders didn’t turn around or look up from his PADD. This ship could destroy all his carefully arranged plans.

“I’m Hudson. He’s Hicks.” The Marshall replied, pointing at the third man getting out of the ship. Hick was taller, better looking and dressed in camouflage plants and a khaki t-shirt. He was strapping a side arm on as he walked. Hicks had short cropped brown hair and wore the facial hair of a man a few days unshaven. He had a scar on his left cheek that instead of flawing his natural good looks, seemed to enhance them in a rugged sort of way.

Captain Sanders sighed, “Sorry. What is it Hudson?”

“Is this gonna be another bug hunt?” The short man asked with a slight whine.

“No it isn’t. And what are you doing with that?” Sanders pointed at the rifle and waved dismissively, “Hudson, side arm only! I am sure I gave that order. Do you know the meaning of covert?”

“Oh sir! Can’t I tranq them? They are so much easier to deal with when I tranq them.” Hudson pleaded as the fourth member came out of the ship. A woman with dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes. She had a body of someone who worked out a lot and dressed to show it in tight shape hugging leather pants and thin veil of silk passing as a shirt. She shook her head at Hudson as she passed.

“Vasquez!” the Captain said, “Please shoot Hudson for me if he doesn’t put the rifle away in fifteen seconds.”

“With pleasure, Captain” the lady said and drew her sidearm.

“Whoa! Hey! I’m a getting. I’m a getting” Hudson said and ran backwards a few steps away from Vasquez before heading back into the ASREV.

“Say.” Hicks said looking over at Destiny “That’s a nice Boat.”

“Is the plan humped now Captain?” Vasquez asked as she holstered her gun.

“Maybe. Maybe not. PA has them as on Med pass for a passenger. Could be nothing to do with what we’re looking for. Let’s find the Captain.”

Hudson returned without rifle or bandolier. “Can we check out the bar?”

Hicks and Vasquez rolled their eyes. The captain put away his PADD and looked around, “Not a bad idea actually. Probably the only place the crew could afford on tramp freighter wages.”

“Alright!” Hudson called out.

“Keep it real Hudson. Two drink max – you got me! You ruin this mission and I will make you cry.”

“Two drinks. Right! No Problem Captain.”

“Vasquez.”

“Don’t worry Captain. I’ll shoot him if he even orders a third.”

Ken, Brian, Jason and Grace left the cantina to head for the ship. As they did, they noticed the four marshals approaching, a captain with white hair and eyebrows, a short stocky one, an attractive woman and a not so bad on the eyes gentleman as well. The shorter one (Hudson) goes right past you without so much as a look your way, so focused on the cantina itself it seems. The white haired tall man has a Colonel insignia on his shoulder. He nods respectfully as you approach. “Excuse me? Are you part of the crew to the ship there - Destiny? I’d like to speak to the Captain?” The two marshals that stay with their captain wait patiently. The lady marshal flashed a flirty smirk and a smile at (Jason is sure it was at him, Ken is pretty sure it was directed at him, Brian is sure she was looking at him) the boys. The other marshal merely nods politely and looks around as if he expected to be attacked at any moment.

(Assuming no gunplay and you point him in the direction of captain)

Meanwhile, Jon and Tess look up from their conversation to see a short stock man enter the bar and call out. “Yo! Barkeeper! Give me two of the strongest beers you have.” and sits down at the table closest to the exit. He then pulls his sidearm out, drops it on the table, his belt knife is then dropped beside it and three mags for his gun as well as sighs in relief loudly. Tony rolls his eyes and looks disgusted as he drops off two beers at the table. Then the other three follow. The white haired man looks at the stuff on the table.

“Put that away Hudson. You’ll scare the locals.”

“Ahh Captain. They stick into my ribs when I sit.”

“Would you prefer to stand at attention for the remainer of the day while we enjoy your beer?”

“Umm…No Captain.”

“Good. Pack it then. I’ll be back. Vasquez, order me the same and make sure Hudson doesn’t drink them.”

The captain then left his men and headed over to the table where Tess and Jon sat. Both of you notice that he wears a colonel insignia but his crew call him captain. He nodded his head respectfully, “Hello. I’m Sanders. Federal Marshal.” He says producing an official badge from his pocket, “You brought a companion, one Priscilla Barnes, in yesterday on a D5753 dash 432. I have been asked to check on her status and yours as this is a restricted area. Mind If I ask a few questions?”

(Assuming no)

“How is Ms. Barnes? Will she be ready to leave soon?”

“That long! Oh. Do you intend to wait for her or move out?”

(More questions to come but I need to know answers first)

Weapon specialist or not, you botched your roll. Sorry Dude, but it happens.

However you may use your points to adjust the effect. For 1 plot point I will take it back a round so that 6 seconds delay no longer is effect, you can start from recovery.

Think of it this way, you have your opponent who is best at the long shot at close range - and you are best with pistols. Who's nasty now?

How far? Well for the first 6 seconds you have no idea. After that the effects will wear start to off and you will be able to focus. I may even give you another resistance roll.

Subject: moving along

Frisco, Day Nine 11:00 pm Planet Time

The light of the moon gave Asher just enough light to see but not enough to make out details. When he reached the jailhouse, he couldn't see if anyone was in the crow's nest, but heck, it had been designed that way. The fact that no one was shooting at him held the other truth though - close to the building, the sniper couldn't see him either. Asher moved as stealthily as he could to the main street. It was deserted, creepily so. Ash moved into the jailhouse. Opening the door Asher slipped inside with the intentions of quickly making his way to the stairs leading to the second level.

But something snagged his foot in the dark. He attempted to stop but he already moved too far and couldn't prevent his shoe from pulling the trip wire.

*FLASH* *BANG*

Ash is left reeling from the light and intense squeal of the device. He curses himself for foolishly charging into a room. He could hear someone coming down the stairs but his eyes wouldn't focus, His sense of balance was gone. He had to clear his head fast or he was a dead man. As he moved with gun out, blindly trying to find a target, a muddled voice seemed to come from all around him. "A woman;s voice saying "come here" or "quickly" - it is hard to focus. Then he hears the voice closerand the sound of footfalls nearby.

"No! It can be you! Your Dead! I killed you myself."

On the other side of town, Wolf moves to the bank and up the side stairs that go up to the meeting hall. He is surprised to find it unlocked, although he wasn't sure what he would have done if it wasn't. He enters the room to move across to the other side where there was a ladder to the hatch outside. But as he does the door closes quickly behind him and the tell-tale sound of a shell being pumped into the firing chamber of a shotgun tells him someone was waiting behind the door. He turns his head slowly and sees Nora Blake is there, holding a shotgun and wearing what looks like an old showgirl outfit. From her smeared and running eye makeup, Wolf can tell that she has been crying recently.

"You are going to take me to my Jimmy! You are going to bring him back home or I will end you right here!"

Andrew has never been to this town before so he takes his time, leaving Wolf to handle his objective… Andrew would move behind the building on this side of the street… keeping to the shadows as much as possible… once at the end of the row of buildings… he looked around as he approached the main street.

The street seems empty but there are lights on in the saloon. But none of the laughter or conversation rumble you'd expect from a saloon in the evening. It is quiet. Very quiet. Maybe too quiet.

Peering out he looked again for any sign of snipers… signs of anyone… he pondered his options … then with a strange smile upon his lips… he stepped out into the street and walked towards the Saloon’s front door.

A man steps out of the shadows near Lawrence's saloon, wearing workman overall and a broad-brimmed hat. his hand is on his pistol but he does draw. "Hey! Who are you?" he calls out, "There's a curfew tonight!" The moonlight causes the tin star on his lapel pin to glisten with a pale shine.

Hornsilver Mine, Regina, Frisco, Day Nine 10:45 pm Planet Time

"Mr. Cullen," Wyatt gave a little nod. "Glad to have your help. Care to elaborate on the trouble you've been experiencin' and what we might expect down there?"

"That sheriff we brought to town turned out a few fruit short of a nutbar. Started killing the Tong, and then when the council tried to reason with him, he killed poor John Blake and wounded JW. Next thing you know he has deputies - in the form of the Mustard gang. They set fire to the Tong temple and laughed while it burned. After that, people took to hiding, Poor Nora gone completely leaky in the brainpan, and we, Bailey and I made sure that JW got hid away quick but you'd never believe who was behind this all! Brigit! Yeah! The school marm and JW's fi...fi...fi-yon-say. She's got Luke on a leash, and the Mustard's playing patsy for him. Hell, she even somehow got the gorram blockade to lift when she didn't need it anymore. Should have never trust a gorram woman....ah...No offense Ma'am.

"Well, here is what I can tell you about down there. I can tell from the service log on the lift that it has been used twice since I shut her down yesterday. Once to level one, that is the level closest to the surface , returned to surface and once to level 2 and level 1 and surface again. Brigit, the sheriff and one of the Mustards were seen heading this way. Now Level 1 is dangerous! I'm not kidding around it is highly unstable and if you go shooting guns and blowing grenades and you will be in a world of hurt. Now 2 and three, they are okay. But 1 is ready to collapse so please, don't do anything Buh Dahn.

"There is an old shaft from back when the mine first was played out, about a mile or so west of here. It ain't got no lift so unless you feel like climbing, this is the only way in or out and I got it locked. There is a bell on the lift that rings up here. You ring it three times, I'll hit the override and let you come up. Otherwise, I ain't letting anyone in there tonight. Hope you don't think me a Kuh Wu Chwen but I'd rather be up here if something goes wrong so I can get help, than ...well somewhere else where I can't. I got a couple of good battery op lanterns if you need them."
